초원 너머에서 또다시 함성이 울렸다. 불씨처럼 솟구치는 그림자들, 글런트의 잔당과 도망치던 고블린들이 뒤섞여 다시 물밀 듯 몰려온다. 이번엔 등뼈처럼 굽은 거대한 개체들까지 포진해 있었고, 그 사이로 작고 빠른 약탈자들이 화살처럼 튀어나온다. 전선은 곧 무너질 듯 얽혔다.

“또 왔군.” 레드가 으르렁거리며 몸을 낮췄다. 불꽃이 이미 혀끝을 달구고 있었다.

나는 어둠을 모으며 숨을 길게 들이켰다. 몸이 천천히 끓어올랐다 —산성, 독, 번개, 어둠이 손가락 끝에서 섞였다.

우리는 동시에 돌진했다.

레드는 선두로 뛰쳐나가 화염의 장을 그었다. 불길이 땅을 가르고, 앞에 선 수백의 괴물들이 한순간에 울부짖으며 타올랐다. 불길 속에서도 꿈틀대는 놈들이 있었지만, 레드의 불은 이번엔 더 날카로웠다 바람을 불어넣어 화염을 칼날처럼 만들어냈다. 불꽃이 갈라지며 적들의 진형을 찢었다.

나는 그 갈라진 틈으로 파고들었다.

손톱 다섯이 허공을 찢고, 산성과 독을 찍어 박았다. 할퀴는 순간마다 적들의 살이 흐르고, 그 상처에서 빠져나온 마력은 나의 어둠이 빨아들였다. 작은 적들은 내 염동으로 공중에 집어던져 불길 한가운데로 밀어넣었다. 검은 번개가 그들을 관통하며 속전속결로 전선을 정리했다.

그러나 이번 파도는 이전과 달랐다.

땅속에서 무거운 발굽 소리 거대한 등껍질을 뒤집는 소리가 났다. 회색의 거대 개체가 일어나면서 주변의 우르릉이 폭증했다. 그 몸집은 한 번의 휘두름으로 우리를 포위하려 들었다. 꼬리 끝에서 튀어나온 가시가 레드의 옆구리를 스쳤다. 레드가 비틀거렸지만, 즉시 불과 땅의 합으로 충격파를 뿜어냈다. 땅이 갈라지며 거대한 개체의 발을 붙잡았고, 그 순간 나는 심연을 소환해 관절을 붕괴시켰다.

그 와중에 소형 기동대가 측면을 파고들었다 빠른 칼과 창을 휘두르는 자들. 레드는 번개를 꼬리와 연결해, 지면을 타고 퍼지는 전류로 그들을 기절시켰다. 나는 어둠의 속삭임을 풀어 적들의 시선을 뺏고, 위습처럼 환영을 띄워 뒤섞었다. 곧바로 손을 내밀어 염동으로 몇을 집어올려 머리통을 평평하게 바닥에 찍었다.

Another roar rang out from beyond the grass. Shadows rising like embers, the remnants of Glent and the fleeing goblin are mixed and rushing back. This time, there were even huge individuals bent like backbone, and small and fast looters popped out like arrows in between. The front line soon became tangled as if it were to collapse.

"Here we are again," Red growled and lowered himself. The flame was already burning the tip of his tongue.

I took a long breath, gathering darkness. My body slowly boiled over — acidity, poison, lightning, and darkness mixed at the fingertips.

We rushed at the same time.

Red ran out to the front and drew the field of flames. The fire cut the ground, and hundreds of monsters in front of it burned with a howl in an instant. There were some wriggling in the flames, but Red's fire was sharper this time. It blew the wind and made the flame look like a blade. The flame split and tore apart the enemy's true form.

I dug into the crack.

Five fingernails ripped through the air, dipped in acid and poison. Every moment of the scratch, the flesh of the enemies flowed, and my darkness sucked out of the wound. My small enemies threw them into the air with my brass and pushed them into the middle of the fire. A black lightning bolt penetrated them and organized the wires with quick speed.

But this wave was different than before.

The sound of heavy hooves overturned a huge shell was heard in the ground. The surrounding rumbling exploded as a gray giant individual arose. The body tried to surround us with a single swing. A thorn protruding from the tip of the tail grazed Red's side. Red stumbled, but immediately unleashed a shock wave through the sum of fire and the ground. The ground cracked and grabbed the huge individual's feet, and at that moment I summoned the abyss to collapse the joint.

In the meantime, a small task force penetrated the sides. Fast knives and spear-wielders. Red connected the lightning to the tail, knocking them out with the electric current spreading along the ground. I released the whisper of darkness, distracted the enemies, and mixed them up with visions like a storm. Immediately, I reached out my hand and picked up some with the salt tunnel to flatten the head.
