Kareem: Have you seen the latest sales figures? We need to ramp up production right now.
* sales figure(s) = 매출액/ ramp up = ~을 늘리다[증가시키다]/ production = 생산(량)

Valerie: We don’t know if that increase is simply a blip or a trend.
* blip = 일시적인 상황 변화; 일시적인 문제/ trend = 동향, 추세

Kareem: Those sales figures are significantly above projected levels. Our product is in demand and
we need to meet that demand with a larger production run.
* projected level = 예상된 수준/ in demand = 수요가 많은[있다]/ run = (기업이 한 번에 만들기로 하는 상품의) 생산량   

Valerie: But that would mean a big increase in capital outlay.
* capital outlay = 자본 지출

Kareem: We have to spend money to make money. We don’t want to be caught short if sales continue like this.
* be caught short = 부족하다; 모자라다; 필요한 것이나 돈이 없다 

Valerie: But if they don’t, we’d be saddled with a huge surplus in inventory.
* be saddled with ~ = ~을(반갑지 않은 책임, 과제, 부채 등을) 떠안다, 맡다/ surplus = 과잉/ inventory = 재고(품)

Kareem: When we rolled out this new product, we hoped it would catch on and it has.
Are we going to sit on our hands and do nothing?
* roll out = (신상품을) 출시하다; (새로운 정치 캠페인을) 시작하다/ catch on = 유행하다[인기를 얻다]/ sit on one's hands = 수수방관하다, 소극적이다  

Valerie: I guess you’re right. Should we increase production by 10 percent?

Kareem: Ten percent? We’re doubling production.
* double = 두 배[갑절]로 되다[만들다]  

Valerie: Doubling production?! Are you crazy?

Kareem: Crazy like a fox.
* crazy like a fox = 여우처럼 아주 빈틈없는, 교활한
