These are special boats that travel in the canals of Venice. People use gondolas, water busses,and water taxis to travel up and down the many waterways in Venice.Venice is divided by its biggest canals, the Grand Canal. The Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges that span the Grand Canal.<br><br>One of the most spectacular buildings in Venice is the Doge's palace. The dukes, or does,of Venice became a powerful and important city. The dukes created an international empire of trade in the Mediterranean Sea and built many ships and boats. Today, the palace is a museum with many beautiful works of art like painting and sculptures.<br><br>Saint Mark's Basilica and Saint Mark's Square are at the end of the Grand Canal. The Square is a large open space in front of the basilica.<br><br>The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark's, commonly known as St. Mark's Basilica, is one of the most beautiful cathedral churches in the world. It is very old and is decorated with many works of art. One important example is its beautiful mosaics. Mosaics are images made with many small pieces of stone of different sizes and colors that make a picture.<br><br>Every year in February or March, there is a carnival in Venice. People dress in masks and costumes. There are big parties and dances. There are also many other festivals in Venice during the year.<br><br>In my opinion is I learn about Venice that read a book and interesting.<br></p>
