  오늘의 성경 구절과 오스왈드 챔버스(Oswald Chambers)의 묵상글을 통해  오늘 하루를 믿음으로 시작하고 승리하시길 바랍니다. 

[묵상칼럼] 십자가의 흔적, 그리고 더 단순해지는 믿음
   

   우리의 신앙이 깊어질수록 삶은 복잡해지는 것이 아니라 오히려 단순해집니다. 오스왈드 챔버스는 묻습니다. “당신과 하나님의 관계가 점점 더 단순해지고 있습니까?” 복잡한 세상의 염려와 내 안의 수많은 계산을 내려놓고, 오직 주님의 얼굴만을 바라보는 상태—그것이 바로 참된 믿음이 안겨주는 '거룩한 단순함(Holy Simplicity)'입니다.

1. 손과 옆구리의 부활 흔적 (요한복음 20:20)

"이 말씀을 하시고 손과 옆구리를 보이시니 제자들이 주를 보고 기뻐하더라" (요 20:20)

   두려움에 떨며 문을 닫아걸었던 제자들에게 부활하신 예수님이 찾아오셨습니다. 그리고 당신의 손과 옆구리를 보여주셨습니다. 그 손과 옆구리는 주님이 우리를 위해 치르신 사랑과 희생의 결정적인 증거였습니다. 제자들은 주님의 말씀이나 거창한 설명이 아니라, 나를 위해 찢기신 주님의 흔적 그 자체를 보았을 때 비로소 진정한 기쁨을 얻었습니다. 우리의 복잡한 불안을 잠재우는 것은 세상의 대안이 아니라, 나를 향한 십자가의 명확한 증거입니다.

2. 구름을 타고 오실 영광의 주님 (요한계시록 1:7, 17)

"볼지어다 그가 구름을 타고 오시리라…" (계 1:7)
"내가 볼 때에 그의 발 앞에 엎드러져 죽은 자 같이 되매 그가 오른손을 내게 얹고 이르시되 두려워하지 말라 나는 처음이요 마지막이니" (계 1:17)

  나를 위해 고난받으신 예수님은 이제 온 우주의 주권자로서 구름을 타고 다시 오실 영광의 왕이십니다. 요한이 그 압도적인 영광 앞에 엎드러졌을 때, 주님은 오른손을 얹으시며 말씀하셨습니다. "두려워하지 말라."

   신앙이 단순해진다는 것은 복잡한 내 생각이나 상황의 크기보다 만물의 처음이자 마지막이신 하나님의 주권을 온전히 신뢰하게 되는 것입니다.

오늘을 위한 결단과 질문

부활의 주님은 지금도 우리에게 그분의 손과 옆구리를 보이시며, 동시에 두려워하는 우리 위에 권능의 오른손을 얹어주십니다.

나의 시선 점검하기: 오늘 나는 내 복잡한 문제에 시선을 빼앗기고 있습니까, 아니면 나를 위해 흉터를 남기신 주님의 사랑에 시선을 고정하고 있습니까?

관계의 단순함 회복하기: 하나님과의 관계를 자꾸 복잡한 조건이나 계산으로 만들고 있지는 않습니까? 내 모든 두려움을 처음과 마지막이 되시는 주님께 온전히 내어맡기십시오.

십자가의 사랑을 확인하고 주님의 오심을 바라보는 사람의 오늘은 승리할 수밖에 없습니다.  오늘 하루, 하나님과의 관계가 더욱 단순하고 선명해지기를 소망합니다.

The Marks of the Cross, and a Faith That Grows Simpler

   As our faith deepens, life does not become more complicated; rather, it grows simpler. Oswald Chambers asks us a searching question: "Is your relationship with God becoming increasingly simple?" Laying down the complex worries of the world and the endless calculations of our own minds to fix our eyes solely on the Lord's face—that is the holy simplicity that true faith bestows upon us.

1. The Risen Marks on His Hands and Side (John 20:20)

"When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord." (John 20:20)

   The resurrected Jesus came to the disciples, who were trembling with fear behind locked doors. He showed them His hands and His side. Those marks were the decisive evidence of the love and sacrifice He endured for us. The disciples found true joy not through grand explanations, but by beholding the very marks of the Lord broken for them. What calms our tangled anxieties is not the world's solutions, but the unmistakable evidence of the Cross directed toward us.

2. The Lord of Glory Who Comes with the Clouds (Revelation 1:7, 17)

"Behold, He is coming with clouds..." (Rev 1:7)
"And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, 'Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.'" (Rev 1:17)

   Jesus, who suffered for us, is now the King of glory who will return with the clouds as the Sovereign over all creation. When John fell at His feet before that overwhelming glory, the Lord placed His right hand on him and said, "Do not be afraid." For our faith to grow simpler means trusting the sovereignty of God, who is the First and the Last, far more than the size of our complex thoughts or circumstances.

Reflection & Decision for Today

The risen Lord still shows us His hands and His side today, while placing His powerful right hand over our fearful hearts.

Check Your Focus: Are you distracted by your complicated problems today, or are your eyes fixed on the love of the Lord who bears those scars for you?

Restore Simplicity: Have you been cluttering your relationship with God with conditions and calculations? Entrust all your fears fully to the Lord who is the Alpha and the Omega.

Those who confirm‎ the love of the Cross and look forward to the Lord's coming are bound to walk in victory today. May your relationship with God become increasingly simple and clear throughout this day.
