1 Then Agrippa said /to Paul, “You may speak /in your defense.”
So Paul, gesturing with his hand, started [his defense]:
1 Then Agrippa said to Paul 바울에게, “You 너는 may speak 말해도 된다 in your defense 너의 변호에서.”
So 그래서 Paul 바울이, gesturing 몸짓하면서 with his hand 그의 손으로, started 시작했다 his defense 그의 변호를:
* A defense is also an argument in support of something,
* 형역 분사구 gesturing with his hand, 현분사의 능동 주체인 Paul 수식
* The Voice
1 Agrippa 아그립바 (to Paul 바울에게): Go ahead 진행하라.
You 너는 may speak 말해도 된다 for yourself 네 자신을 위해.
* Go ahead ; proceed.
2 “I am fortunate, King Agrippa, that you are the one /hearing my defense /today
/against all these accusations /made by the Jewish leaders,
that절 내용으로 인해 즉 you 당신이 are the one 그 사람이기에 /hearing 듣고있는 my defense 나의 변호를 today 오늘
against 거슬려서 all these accusations 이 모든 혐의에 made 만들어진/고발된 by the Jewish leaders 유대인 지도자들에 의해,
* 형역 분사구 /hearing my defense today~ 현분사의 능동 주체인 one 수식
* 형역 분사구 /made by the Jewish leaders, 과분사의 수동 주체인 accusations 수식 ; 수동상태 설명
* 전목인 명사구, all these accusations /made by the Jewish leaders, 한+대+명+형역 분사구 ; 능동상태 설명
* The Voice
2 Paul 바울 (extending 뻗으며 his hand 그의 손을): I 나는 am indeed 진정으로 fortunate 행운입니다
to be standing 서있는 것이 before you 당신 앞에, King Agrippa 아그립바 왕이여,
to humbly 겸허히 defend 변호하기 위해 myself 내 자신을 against accusations 고발에 반대하여
from my Jewish opponents
* 보어인 형용사구 indeed fortunate /to be standing before you~ 부+형+부역 부정사구
1. to be standing before you /to humbly defend myself~ 형용사의 내용설명
2. to humbly defend [myself] /against accusations /from my Jewish opponents. 부정사 to be standing의 의도/이유설명
3 for I know () you are an expert /on all Jewish customs and controversies.
Now please listen /to me /patiently!
3 for 왜냐면 I 나는 know 알기에 (that)절 내용을 즉 you 당신은 are an expert 전문가이다는 것
on all Jewish customs 모든 유대인 관습과 and controversies 논란거리들에 대해.
Now 이제 please 부디 listen 경청하시요 to me 나에게 patiently 참을성 있게!
* 형역 전구 /on all Jewish customs and controversies.
* 부역 전구 to me
* 이제 누가 누구를 재판하는 것인지 분명하게 되는데 만약 바울의 말을 믿지 않으면 불심판을 피하지 못할 것이라
* The Voice
3 You 당신은 are extraordinarily 특출하게 familiar 익숙하다 with Jewish customs 유대인 관습과
so 그래서 I 나는 beg 간청한다 your patience 당신의 인내심을 /as 이때 I 내가 begin 시작할 때.
* 보어인 형용사구 extraordinarily familiar with Jewish customs and controversies,
4 “As the Jewish leaders are well aware,
I was given a thorough Jewish training /from my earliest childhood /among my own people and in Jerusalem.
4 “As 처럼 the Jewish 유대인 leaders 지도자들이 are well 잘 aware 인지하고 있는 것처럼,
I 나는 was given 주어졌다 a thorough 철저한 Jewish 유대인 training 훈련을 /from my 나의 earliest 가장 일찍
childhood 유년기부터 /among my own people 내 동족들 가운데서와 and in Jerusalem 예루살렘에서.
* 4 형식 능동문 S gave me a thorough Jewish training~
* 직목인 명사구, a thorough Jewish training~
* thorough · . done completely; with great attention to detail
* 바울이 유년기에 유대인 훈련을 받았다 하여 소위 '조기유학'으로 예루살렘에 살았다 하면 오해가 크나
He starts with his childhood. His own "nation" is the province of Cilicia.
When he says his youth was spent among his own nation, Paul is probably referring to the Jews in Tarsus.
* The Voice
4 My way of life 내 삶의 방식은 is well known 잘 알려졌다 /to the whole Jewish community 유대인 전체 지역사회에,
how 어떻게 I 내가 have lived 살았었는지 in the Jewish community 유대인 지역사회에서
abroad 외국에서나 and in Jerusalem 예루살렘에서.
* Abroad means 'in/to a foreign country'.
* 이 세상에서는 일반적으로 My way 내 방식을 길-진리-생명으로 삼아 죽기살기로 고수하기에 사울도 물론 그랬었고
5 If they would admit it,
they know that I have been [a member of the Pharisees], the strictest sect of our religion.
5 If 만약 they 그들이 would admit 인정한다면 it 그것을,
they 그들은 know 안다 that절 내용을 즉 I 내가 have been a member 일원이었다는 것 of the Pharisees 바리새파의,

* 4 형식 tell you something () they have long known
* 직목인 명사구, something () they have long known
6 Now I am on trial /because of my hope /in the fulfillment of God’s promise /made to our ancestors.
6 Now 이제 I 나는 am on trial 재판 중에 있다 because of 때문에 my hope 내 희망
/in the fulfillment 성취함에 of God’s promise 하나님의 약속이 /made 만들어진/말해진 to our ancestors 우리 조상들에게.
* on trial ; In the process of being tried, especially in a court of law.
* 형역 분사구 /made to our ancestors.
* The Voice

How 얼마나 strange 이상한가요 it is 그것이, then 그러면, Your Excellency 대왕이시여,

‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against my will. ’
14 We all 우리 모두가 fell down 쓰러졌었고,

15 “‘Who are you, lord?’ I asked. “And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting.
15 “‘Who are you 당신은 누구이십니까, lord 주인이시여?’ I 나는 asked 물었다.

형절/목적격 관대절 (whom/who) you are persecuting [목], (관계사=선행사=목적) (whom이 표준이나 who도 인정됨)
16 Now get /to your feet!
For I have appeared /to you /to appoint you as my servant and witness.
Tell [people] [that you have seen me], and tell [them] [what I will show you /in the future].
16 Now 이제 get to your feet 일어서라!
For 왜냐면 I 나는 have appeared 나타났기에 to you 너에게 to appoint 임명하려고 you 너를 as my servant 나의 하인과
and witness 증인으로.
Tell 말하라 people 사람들에게 that절 내용을 즉 you 네가 have seen 보았다고 me 나를,
and tell 말하라 [them 그들에게] [what 그것을 I 내가 will show 보여줄 you 너에게 /in the future 미래에/앞으로].
* 숙어 get/jump/rise etc to your feet : to stand up after you have been sitting:
* 부역 부정사구, /to appoint you as my servant and witness.
* 일반동사 5 형식 appoint [you] [as my servant and witness].

Tell [people] [that you have seen me], tell [them] [what I will show you /in the future].
* 직목인 명사절 [that you have seen me], [what I will show you /in the future]
* 4 형식 구조인 의문사절 what I will show you [직목=what] /in the future (의문사=접속사=직목)
명사구인 선행사+형절 구조의 의미와 같음 the thing that I will show you (the thing that=what)
* The Voice
16 Get up 일어나서 now 이제, and stand 서라 upright 똑바로 on your feet 네 발로.
I 나는 have appeared 나타났다 to you 너에게 for a reason 한 이유로/이유가 있어서.

Me 나를, and 그리고 you 너는 are to continue 계속하기로 계획되어 있다 to tell 말하기를 the story 그 이야기를
in the future 미래에/앞으로.
* 일반동사 5 형식 appointing you to serve Me.
* “be + to + verb” /formal construction 1. to give an instruction or command 2. to tell what is going to happen in the future.
3. to be expected to do planned or scheduled events.
* Has to be/to do 해야/되어야 한다 is stronger than "is to be/to do 되기로/하기로 예상된다, 미래에/앞으로
17 And I will rescue you /from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you /to the Gentiles

* 강조구문 it is~ thar~
* 일반문 I am sending you to the outsiders.에서 전치사구인 to the outsiders가 강조됨
18 Then they will receive [forgiveness for their sins]
and be given a place /among God’s people, who are set apart /by faith in me.’
18 Then 그러고 나서 they 그들은 will receive 받을 것이고 forgiveness 용서를 for their sins 그들의 죄에 대한
and be given 주어질 것이다 a place 한 장소를 among God’s people 하나님의 백성들 가운데,

24 Suddenly, Festus shouted, “Paul, you are insane. Too much study has made you crazy!”

Too much study 너무 많은/많이 한 공부가 has made 만들었다 you 당신을 crazy 미치광이로!”
* 사역동사 5 형식 made you crazy

You’ve 당신은 read 읽었고 one book too many 너무 지나치게 많은 책을 and have gone 갔다 insane 미친 상태로!
* GO CRAZY is to become mentally ill : to go insane
* "One too many" is an idiom meaning that a tipping point has been reached.

are all 모두 다 familiar 익숙한 상태이기에 to him 그에게,
for 왜냐면 they 그런 일들이 were not done 행해지지 않았기에 in a corner 한 구석에서!
* 형용사 수식인 부사역할 that절 ; (that) these events are all familiar to him,

27 King Agrippa 아그립바 왕이여, do you 당신은 believe 믿으십니까 the prophets 선지자들을?
I 나는 know 압니다 (that)절 내용을 즉 you 당신이 do 믿는다는 것—”

* 일반동사 5 형식 persuade me [to become a Christian so quickly]

* 주어인 명사구, not only you but also everyone who is listening to me today
