If a Christian accepts and eats what the devil gives him like a child who crawls on the ground and touches everything he wants, he cannot overcome this world ruled by the devil, the ruler of the world.
Christians are like little children, trying to become a healthy and exemplary church by the standards of the world, but they lose sight of the message of the cross of Christ and cling to vain glory.
Therefore, although there were already believing Christians in Rome, the church must know through Romans why Paul was so eager to go to Rome to impart some spiritual gift.
Q. Who gave Paul the vision of going to Rome?
“For God is my witnesses, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers” (Romans 1:9).
A. Paul says, ‘God gave me this vision and guaranteed it.
And the evidence is the Son's gospel, the Son.
God in my spirit means that the Holy Spirit claims him.
God in the gospel of his Son becomes Paul's witness.
If we do it wrong, we can only see and believe in a certain part of God.
The God of miracles, the God of blessing, the God of consolation, etc.
I've said it many times, but if you believe in God with a natural view, your existence will not change because you approach God to receive comfort for your life's suffering or to solve your immediate problems.
But the revelatory faith is always blessed with eternal life in his Son.
So, you will taste the fullness of God and Jesus Christ working in your spirit, the power, his love, holiness, and mercy.
As a result, "we always repeat the prayer to strengthen our inner man with the power of the Holy Spirit, Christ's dwelling in us and being rooted and grounded in love, and reach the fullness of God's love in Christ". (Ephesians 3:16-19)
Trying to solve the problems in my life is not all of faith.
That's part.
That is why he said that when love comes , that which is perfect, that which was in part will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13)
That perfect one is Jesus Christ.
Look at the Laodicea church.
It is all within, but Christ is without.
The bible says in advance that this will be the type of church in the end times.
Paul knew that God was revealed to him through the Holy Spirit and the Word.
Then the word is preached and testifies that it is in his spirit.
We must have the conviction that we are also serving the God by the Holy Spirit and the Word.
"Without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever comes to God must believe that he is, and that he rewards those who seek him."(Hebrews 11:6)
If God is outside of us, he will, at most, hold hands and tell us to push ourselves.
But if God works in me by the Spirit and the Word, if I follow the Lord, he will give me life and peace, give me joy, give me spiritual assets, and show the value in me.
Which one is more valuable?
This is the faith of David, who always kept the Lord before him (Psalm 16:8).
The apostle Paul has just that grace.
Therefore, servants of the Lord must have the conviction that they always meet the God of the Spirit and the Word.
As a funny story, in Sunday school, the teacher asked the children to draw God, so one child drew a 119 ambulance.
When the teacher asked why, she said that her parents prayed all night at church whenever they encountered something frustrating.
So, she answered that he thought that God was an 119 ambulance called when they was in a hurry.
From this child's point of view, her mom and dad go to church whenever something happened.
When Paul says that God is his witness, this is the apostle Paul's testimony that he is always thinking of the saints in Rome in his prayers without ceasing.
If we pray and the content of the prayer always stays in our hearts, then it is a prayer that is done according to God's will.
If you pray with your own thoughts and desires and have those thoughts, you will feel uncomfortable.
However, the vision given by God always remains in our hearts until it is fulfilled.
I sympathize with Paul's feelings a little.
While praying morning and night, thoughts fly from one continent to another.
Q. Why did Paul want to go to Rome so much?
“Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established.” (Rom 1:10-12).
A. Paul's prayer is bound in the word 'by any means'.
This prayer dominates Paul until he goes to Rome.
In God's will, he want a good way to go to Rome to open and he want to prosper.
This is not my own way, but my earnest prayer that the way of the gospel of God will be opened.
He humbly wait for God's work.
Eventually, Paul was taken to Rome as a prisoner.
However, since this prisoner appealed to the emperor, he went straight to the emperor Caesar without anyone touching him.
God sent Paul to Rome in the best and most perfect way with a safe device so that Satan would not touch him.
This is what God did according to Paul's prayer.
At that time, the faith of the saints in Rome was spread all over the world, but Paul said that he would make it a firm faith that would not be shaken.
How does he make the saints unshakable?
He is eager to set the saints straight.
The faith of others is shaking, so it is Paul's determination and passion to make sure that faith is not shaken.
It is a model of the apostleship that we should follow.
Paul's earnest reason to go to Rome is to let them know the spiritual gift, that is, to know the work of the Spirit of life in Christ.
As a result, they gain ‘comfort with each other’, which is the work of the Holy Spirit, the Counselor.
If you properly explain the gospel to the Romans, they won't immediately realize what you're talking about.
Romans do not yet know much about the gospel, so Paul explains in the words of comfort comfort.
He want to find comfort among them because of their and his faith.
This is what a church with spiritually mature adults looks like.
When people who know the truth gather together, there is a spiritual boost between them.
It is the encouragement of the spirit.
Unfortunately, however, when we try to share spiritual revival, some people talk about justification we need in a pragmatic society, while others talk about the fundamentals and only give the correct answer, so it's very difficult to get along.
For example, things like “We can’t do it, but God can do everything” or “If God gives us grace, we can do it.”
The situation in which the Lord in Mary's womb and John the Baptist in Elizabeth's womb leaped each other for joy is the comfort of each other.
When we share the knowledge of the truth with each other, the Holy Spirit cheers each other with comport and joy in each other's hearts is the comfort of each other.
This is the food of those who preach the gospel, and the wages and rewards that are the price of ministry.
To this end, Paul prayed that he would always go to Rome no matter what.
