As the end of the year approaches, here is a look back at some of the major news moments of 2023. Events covered in this essay (the second of a three-part photo summary of the year) include a record-setting fire season in Canada, months-long strikes by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA unions, a dam breach during the fighting in Ukraine, the coronation of Britain’s King Charles III, and much more.
