말씀과 묵상글을 통해 깊은 은혜를 나누는 8월 1일(토요일) 귀한 아침입니다. 오늘의 묵상 칼럼과 결단의 기도문을 국문과 영문으로 묵상하며 은혜를 나누고자 합니다. 

◆ 오늘의 묵상 칼럼: 뿌리를 내린 자리, 주님이 찾아오시는 곳

1) 오늘의 성구 & 묵상글

"그는 물가에 심어진 나무가 그 뿌리를 강변에 뻗치고 더위가 올지라도 두려워하지 아니하며 그 잎이 청청하며 가무는 해에도 걱정이 없고 결실이 그치지 아니함 같으리라"

2)  묵상칼럼 : 순종의 자리가 은혜의 원천이 됩니다

   우리는 때로 영적인 가뭄이나 삶의 혹독한 더위를 만날 때, 환경을 탓하거나 시련 자체를 두려워하곤 합니다. 그러나 예레미야 선지자는 '물가에 심겨 뿌리를 강변에 뻗친 나무'는 더위나 가뭄에 흔들리지 않는다고 말합니다. 이 나무의 비밀은 환경에 있지 않고, 어디에 뿌리를 내리고 영양분을 공급받느냐에 있습니다. 하나님을 신뢰하고 그분께 깊이 뿌리를 내린 영혼은 어떤 고난 앞에서도 푸르름을 잃지 않으며 풍성한 열매를 맺습니다.

오스왈드 챔버스는 주님께서 제자들에게 각 동네로 떠나 복음을 전하라 명하신 후, "예수께서… 여러 동네에서 가르치시며 전도하시려고 거기서 떠나가시니라(마 11:1)"는 구절에 주목합니다. 주님께서는 우리에게 사명을 주어 떠나라고 명하신 그 장소로 직접 찾아오셔서 역사를 완성하십니다.

  우리가 주님의 말씀에 순종함으로 마주한 그 자리가 비록 가물고 더운 광야 같을지라도 낙심할 필요가 없습니다. 우리가 말씀에 뿌리를 깊이 박고 순종의 자리를 지킬 때, 주님은 바로 그곳으로 친히 찾아오십니다. 주님이 찾아오시는 그 자리는 더 이상 가뭄의 땅이 아니라, 생명수가 흐르는 은혜의 강변이 됩니다.

오늘 하루, 나에게 주어진 삶의 현장에서 주님께 깊이 뿌리를 내리십시오. 순종의 자리를 지킬 때 주님께서 찾아오시어 변함없는 결실과 평안을 더해주실 것입니다.

3) 결단의 기도문

사랑과 은혜가 풍성하신 하나님 아버지,
오늘도 제 삶의 뿌리를 오직 주님이라는 생명수 가에 깊이 내리기를 원합니다. 세상의 더위와 삶의 가뭄이 찾아올지라도 두려워하지 않고, 늘 푸른 잎사귀와 풍성한 열매를 맺는 순종의 사람으로 살아가게 하옵소서.

주님께서 제게 사명을 주시고 순종하라 명하신 그 자리로 주님이 친히 찾아오심을 믿습니다. 내 생각과 힘으로 버티려 하지 않고, 주님의 찾아오심을 기대하며 오늘 하루도 제게 맡겨진 자리를 기쁨으로 지키게 하옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.

◆ Daily Devotional Column: The Place Where Roots Spread, The Place He Comes

[Scripture & Oswald Chambers' Insight]

"They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Message: The Place of Obedience Becomes the Source of Grace

  When we face spiritual droughts or the scorching heat of life, we often blame our environment or fear the trials themselves. However, the prophet Jeremiah tells us that a tree planted by the water, sending its roots out by the stream, remains unshaken. The secret of this tree lies not in its surrounding circumstances, but in where its roots are anchored and where it draws its nourishment. A soul that trusts God and roots itself deeply in Him never loses its vitality, bearing abundant fruit even in the harshest seasons.

Oswald Chambers draws our attention to Matthew 11:1, where Jesus sent His disciples out to preach, and then "went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee." The Lord Himself comes to the very places He has commanded us to go, completing the work He set before us.

Even if the place of obedience feels like a dry and scorching wilderness, we have no reason to lose heart. When we anchor our roots deeply in His Word and hold our ground in obedience, the Lord Himself visits us right there. The place where He meets us is no longer a land of drought, but a riverbank of grace flowing with living water.

Today, root yourself deeply in the Lord within the very circumstances given to you. As you stand faithful in obedience, He will come to you, granting unwavering peace and fruitful blessings.

 Prayer of Commitment

Heavenly Father, full of love and grace,
Today, I desire to anchor the roots of my life deeply by the streams of Your living water. Even when the heat of this world and the droughts of life press upon me, help me not to fear, but to live as an obedient servant whose leaves remain green and whose fruit never fails.

  I believe that You personally come to the very place You have called and commanded me to be. May I not rely on my own strength or understanding, but patiently abide in obedience, eagerly anticipating Your presence today. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
