Yesterday, there must be some who wondered why I summoned Pastor Tim Keller and bemoaned him, and why did they look down upon the 50th anniversary of the Billy Graham Evangelism Rally?
It's a Q and A anyway, so I should answer in detail.
I am speaking with the standard of the word of God that was fulfilled after Romans 4.
Why wouldn't the eternal kingdom of heaven is important, where our body is changed into an incorruptible body, never die, and enjoy eternal bliss with the Lord?
Therefore, what is more important is whether I, who died in Adam, died and was buried with Christ, and rose again with Christ to be a new life united in the resurrection.
The present resurrection is the future resurrection, and the present kingdom of heaven is the future kingdom of heaven.
Of course, death is scary, but I want to emphasize the present, when I carry the cross with Christ, that life of Christ appears in my body, and when I give myself over to death for the Lord, the life of Christ appears in my motal body (2 Cor. 4:10-12).
If you are making such a great deal with the cross of Christ, death is considered to be putting off your earthen house and changing into the house of eternal glory built by God (2 Corinthians 5:1).
Therefore, you must practice the message of the cross repeatedly throughout your life as if you are eating and breathing.
Only then will Christ become our treasure, and at the same time exchanging ourselves with the Lord will become our daily routine.
Also, when I heard that Pastor Franklin, the son of Billy Graham, was making a sinner while enumerating the types of human sins in the middle of a sermon, I thought that this person did not know what sin was. I asked if there was any reason for such a non-beginner to hold a national rally.
As the Lord said, if you do not believe in the Lord in Jesus Christ, that is sin (John 16:9). From sin, the type of sin he presented comes out.
If the gospel was properly preached, the sinner in Adam believed that I was in a position where I could have been in serious trouble but I was delivered through the Lord Jesus Christ, repented, and was baptized, and received the forgiveness.
He can confess like this and shout out boldly.
Tim Keller or Franklin Graham work hard to explain about Jesus Christ who is outside of them, but they cannot properly explain the relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ who is inside of them.
That's why I said a word for the spiritual level of the Korean church.
Q. Why is Paul so proud of the gospel of Christ?
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
A. Paul declares, 'I am not ashamed of the gospel'.
To not be ashamed of the gospel means that the gospel is very proud and valuable.
His sense of identity as a servant of Christ because of the gospel pierces the sky.
why? Because the gospel is the power of God.
How can we convey this gospel of the glory of God with our insufficient vocabulary?
However it is preached in philosophical terms and in our foolish vocabulary as recorded in the Bible , it means, “It was the power of God.”
The condition for giving that salvation is 'to those who believe' (present participle), and the target is everyone, and the gospel is proud because it always gives salvation to those who believe in the present.
Q. What is the function and role of the gospel?
“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed - a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)
A. In the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed.
And it starts with faith and continues to expand with faith.
Because of God's will.
Confirmation of faith in the Word makes the righteous.
And the righteous live by faith.
More precisely, the righteous are lived by faith.
Therefore, when the righteousness of God is manifested in us, the Holy Spirit works and we become one with Christ and peace comes, and the outward expression of those who have this peace is joy (Romans 14:17).
When you hear the gospel and God's righteousness is revealed in you, that righteousness will lead you from faith to faith.
So, since we have already received the Bible, truth comes from the earth and righteousness looks down from heaven, and God always puts righteousness first and works along the way of his steps. (Psalm 85:11-13).
Therefore, our faith must be the faith that obtains God's righteousness.
That's why it say justification by faith.
Romans 1:17 describes the process by which the written word is fulfilled.
When you receive the gospel of Christ, the righteousness of God will be revealed in you, and through that righteousness, faith will lead to faith, and it will be as the word said, "Only the righteous will live by faith."
By faith, God's righteousness is revealed in us, and at the same time, we are alive by the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit, and it becomes the power of faith to live by the righteousness.
The gospel is the power of God who live us and the power of God who saves us.
This is the power of the gospel.
Therefore, Paul said, "I value this gospel and boast about it. Even if you do not tell me to come or go, I will go and share this spiritual gift with you so that you, like me, can testify of this gospel."
Therefore, those who have faith but do not stand firm in the assurance of faith and the knowledge of the truth are in a state where “the creation groans and bows down to futility” in Romans 8:22.
The current situation of Christianity is that there are more spectators sitting in the stands than players running on the field.
Paul wanted to preach the gospel to these people and give them strong conviction.
This is Paul's pride.
As for what he had in mind when he said this, he said this with reference to the words in Romans 8.
If he preach how great the glory of God is in Romans 8, he is thinking that God's power like this is revealed in them.
That's why Paul presupposes Romans 8 from the beginning and develops Romans gradually.
I am also writing this while looking at the power of the glorious gospel unfolding in Romans 8.
