A judge has rejected a request sideline a San Jose state player on the grounds she's transgender.
The ruling by US Magistrate judge Kato Crews allows the player, who has played to all season to compete in the Mount west women's volley balls comference tounament.
The rulling comes in a lawsuit filed by nine players against the Mount west challenging the league's policy for allowing transgender players to participate.
the players argued that letting her compete is a safety risk and unfair.
San Jose state says it will continue to support its student athlete and reject discrimination in all forms.
