  Chapter 27 : Yun-ja(潤資,윤자)... Enriching one′s wealth... Article 177.

潤資(윤자)는 가지고 있는 財貨(재화)를 늘리는 것이다.

  Yun-ja(潤資,윤자) means increasing the wealth and goods one possesses.

인간이 가지고 있는 財貨(재화)가 있으면 구차스럽게 원하는 바가 없어서 자애로운 마음이 깊어지게 된다.

  When people possess wealth and goods, 

  they do not find themeselves in a position of pitifully begging or craving for things,

  which allows their hearts to grow deeper in benevolence and compassion.

財貨(재화)가 있는 것은 부지런함으로 이루어지며 게으르게 되면 잃게 된다.

  Accumulating wealth and goods is achieved through diligence,

  whereas laziness leads to losing them.

義(의)로우면 지킬 수 있으며 인자하면 윤택하게 된다.

  If one righteous(義,의), they can protect their wealth, and if one is benevolent / kind(仁,인),

  they will become truly prosperous.

潤資者는 潤其資有也라 (윤자자는 윤기자유야라)

  Yun-ja(潤資,윤자 - enriching wealth) means to make the wealth and resources

   one possesses abundant.

人有資有則無苟願하여 長慈心하나니 (인유자유즉무구원하여 장자심하나니)

  When a person possesses wealth and resources,

  they do not develop improper or desperate desires,

  thereby allowing their heart of benevolence and compassion to grow.

資有는 成之於勤하고 失之於台 라 (자유는 성지어근하고 실지어태라)

  The possession of wealth is achieved through diligence, but it is lost through laziness.

義則守하고 仁則潤이니라. (의즉수하고 인즉윤이니라.)

  Through righteousness(義,의), one can safeguard it; through benevolence(仁,인),

   one can truly flourish.

 [Explanation, 풀이]

아무리 이상이 고결하다 해도 재물이 없으면 당장의 생계가 막연하니

그 고결한 이상이 현실적인 장애에 부딪혀 구차스럽게 된다.

이러고 서야 남을 구제하는 것은 고사하고 남이 자신을 구제해야 할 지경이된다.

인간은 재물이 있고서 자애로운 마음이 깊어지게 된다는 것이 제 177事(사)이니

부지런히 일하여 재물을 비축하고 義(의)로움으로 지키고 仁(인)으로 윤택하게 하여야 함은

在世理化(재세이화), 弘益人間(홍익인간)을 위해 필수적인 일이다.

우리 민족이 9000년의 역사 속에서 축척해 온 지혜는 이와 같이 현실과 동떨어져 있지 않다.

궁극적인 목표가 현실세계를 지상낙원으로 만드는 것인 만큼  그 철학도 이같이 현실적인 것이라 할 수 있다.
