반지의 제왕 1편- 반지원정대

The scene of Bilbo's party. Remembr when Bilbo is telling the adventure story to the child hobbits, about the 3 trolls frozen to stone by daylight? Well skip forward to the scene after Frodo is stabbed by the Morgul blade, when Aragorn is trying to explain the special weed to help Frodo's wound. Look behind them in that scene. You can clearly see the 3 frozen trolls from Bilbo's story.

-빌보의 생일파티씬에서 빌보가 어린 호빗들을 모아놓고 트롤들이 돌로 변했다는 모험이야기를 기억하고 있는지? 그 씬 후에 프로도가 나즈굴의 칼에 찔리는 장면에서 아라곤이 프로도의 상처를 치료하기 위한 약초 얘기를 할 때 즈음 뒤쪽을 보면 빌보의 모험담에 나오는 트롤 3마리(돌로 변한 것)을 볼 수 있다.


When the hobbits enter Bree, right after the wheel of the carriage passes in front of them, there is a man you see to the right who burps. That is Peter Jackson making a cameo appearance.

-호빗들이 브리에 들어섰을 때(인간의 마을), 마차가 그들 바로 앞을 지나가며 오른편에 트림하는 한 남자가 보일 것이다. 그 남자는 감독인 피터잭슨이다.


Sean Bean (Boromir) used to play a character on TV known as Sharpe. Ever since then, he has made subtle comments about Sharpe in his movie appearances. The one in this is in Rivendell, when he handles the broken sword and accidently cuts himself. He whispers: "Still sharp." This is a reference to his old character Sharpe. Kind of an interesting thing to listen for.

-보로미르 역을 하는 숀빈은 예전에 'Sharpe'라는 TV 방송에 출연하였었다. 그 후로 그의 작품에서 그는 항상 'Sharpe'에 관련된 얘기를 슬쩍 하곤 했는데, 반지의 제왕에서도 예외는 아니다. 리벤델(엘프의 마을)에서 부러진 칼(이실두르의 칼)에 베이면서 '아직도 날카롭군(Still sharp)'라고 한다.


Actor Orlando Bloom (Legolas) fell from his horse during filming and broke one of his ribs.

-레골라스는 이 영화 촬영중에 말에서 떨어저서 갈비뼈가 부러졌었다.


Viggo Mortensen during a fight scene with orcs, got hit in the mouth with a sword and it broke a tooth. He tried to get them to put it back with superglue, but for obvious reasons PJ didn't let him. He went to the dentist that afternoon to get it fixed.

-아라곤을 연기한 비고 모텐슨은 오크족들과의 싸움 씬에서 입을 칼에 맞아 이빨이 부러지는데, 부러진 이빨을 본드로 붙이고 계속 촬영을 하려 했지만 감독이 이를 허락하지 않아 그 날 오후에 치과를 가야 했다.


When Sean Astin (Sam) is running to catch up with Frodo when he's in the boat, he stepped on a piece of glass that stabbed through his foot. It bled so much that he had to get to the hospital by helicopter.

-샘을 연기한 숀 오스틴은 마지막 씬-배를 타고 떠나는 프로도를 쫓아가는 장면-을 찍을 때 유리조각을 밟고 만다. 이 때 너무나 출혈이 심하여 헬리콥터에 실려 병원으로 우송되었다.


The scream of the Nazgul (Ringwraiths) is actually Fran Walsh, co-writer with Peter Jackson (director) on the film.

-나즈굴(반지를 찾아다니는 검은 유령)의 찢어질듯한 비명소리(?)는 피터잭슨과 시나리오 작업을 같이 한 프랜월시의 목소리이다.


When they are on the ledge of the snowy mountain, notice that Legolas is walking on top of the snow while the others are trudging through it.

-반지원정대가 눈이 쌓인 산맥을 걸어가는 장면에서, 다른 사람들은 눈에 푹푹 빠져서 가는 반면 레골라스는 눈에 빠지지 않고 사뿐사뿐 걷는 것을 알 수 있다.

During the scene before Bilbo's party, when Gandalf and Bilbo are inside Bag-end, Gandalf hits his head on a beam upon entering Bilbo's study. This was actually unintentional, but Ian McKellan did such a good job acting through it that Peter Jackson left it in the movie.

-영화 첫 장면에서 간달프가 빌보의 집에 찾아갔을 때 고개를 돌리면서 천정 부분에 부딪치는 장면이 있는데, 이것은 대본에 없이 진짜로 부딪친 것이다. 그러나, 간달프가 너무나 연기를 잘하여서 피터잭슨은 그 장면을 남겨놓았다.






반지의 제왕 2편- 두개의 탑

John Rhys-Davies who plays Gimli the Dwarf also provides the voice for Treebeard the Ent.

-반지의 제왕에서 드워프 김리를 연기한 존 리즈 데이비스는 엔트(나무의 정령?)의 성우역도 했다.


To get the cheering and shouting for the Orcs at the battle of Helm's Deep, the producers recorded the crowd at a New Zealand/England cricket match.

-헬름협곡의 전투에서 오크족들의 함성을 얻기 위해 제작진은 뉴질랜드와 영국의 크리켓경기장에서 군중들의 함성소리를 녹음하였다고.


In Helm's Deep, when women and children retreat to the caves, look closely at the kids. They're the same actors as the Hobbit kids listening to Bilbo's story of the trolls at his birthday party in 'Fellowship' - they're the children of director Peter Jackson.

-헬름협곡에서 여자들과 어린이들이 동굴로 피하는 장면에서 어린이의 모습을 자세히 들여다보라. '반지의 제왕-반지원정대'에서 빌보의 생일파티 때 모험이야기를 듣는 호빗족 아이들과 동일인물이며, 피터잭슨의 자녀들이다.


The first man to throw a stone at the orks coming up the bridge in the Helms-Deep scene is Peter Jackson.

-헬름협곡의 전투에서 벽을 타고 올라오는 오크족에게 돌을 던지는 맨 첫번째 사람이 감독 피터잭슨이다.


Trivia for the musically aware. Legolas turns a random object into a skateboard to slide down the stairs mid-battle a la Marty McFly. The phrasing of the score quotes an unmistakeable short burst of the 'Back to the Future' score, before reverting to all things Middle Earth.

-음악적 측면에서의 뒷이야기. 헬름협곡의 전투에서 레골라스가 방패를 스케이트보드 삼아 계단을 미끄러져 내려오는 장면이 있는데 이 장면에서 '백투더 퓨쳐' 주제가가 잠시 흘러나온다.


Viggo (Aragorn) broke his toes when he kicked the helmet at the pile of burning bodies. He filmed the next scene limping.

-김리와 레골라스, 아라곤이 메리와 피핀을 찾을 때, 아라곤이 우르카이의 시체더미 앞의 투구를 차는 장면이 있다. 이 때 아라곤은 발가락 골절상을 입어서 그 다음 신을 절뚝거리며 찍어야 했다.


When filming the battle of Helm's Deep the makers used a computer programme called Massive, where each person has its own "mind", making it far easier to generate huge battles, because each person can be allocated a "side", and will then react/fight accordingly, in a variety of different styles (depending on the circumstances they find themselves in), rather than having to create/program each army member individually. The first time they used this for the battle of Helm's Deep, the defenders of Helm's Deep ran away.

-반지의 제왕을 찍을 때 제작진은 '매씨브'라는 컴퓨터 프로그램을 이용하였는데 이 프로그램은 각각의 인물들을 다 따로 조작기 위해 프로그램을 따로 돌릴 것 없이, 각각의 인물들에 상황에 따른 '캐릭터'를 부여하여, 각각의 다른 행동을 보이기 때문에 작업시간을 대폭 축소시키는 편리한 기능이 있다
헬름협곡의 전투를 찍는 장면에서 처음으로 이 프로그램을 돌렸을 때, 협곡의 아군들은 오크족을 피해 다 달아났다고 한다.


In the scene at Helm's Deep, when Legolas is talking about how the Rohan will definitely lose the battle, there are two men on the left of Aragorn. One is conceptual artist Alan Lee, and the other is art director Dan Hennah.

-헬름협곡에서 전투하기 전, 레골라스가 전투에서 질 것이라는 얘기를 하며 아라곤과 언쟁을 하는 장면이 있는데, 이 때 아라곤의 왼쪽에 있는 두사람의 엑스트라는 컨셉아트 담당자, 그리고 아트디렉터이다.


Grima Wormtongue's eyes are not the same color, because he has a light blue contact in his right eye, and no contact over his left eye, which is a different shade of blue. He and the costume designers just thought he looked weirder with only one contact in. His eyebrows have also been shaved off.

-그리마 뱀혓바닥의 눈 색깔은 오른쪽 눈에만 하늘색 콘택트렌즈를 끼고 왼쪽에는 착용하지 않기 때문에 양쪽 눈 색깔이 다른데, 그와 의상디자이너가 생각해낸 것이다. 그리고, 더 으스스한 분위기를 내기 위해 눈썹도 밀어버렸다고.
