[Scene: Central Perk, Phoebe is recapping last season,

        센트럴 퍼크, 피비는 지난 시즌을 재방송한다,

        and as she talks we see a montague of scenes from Ross and Rachel.]
        우리는 피비가 얘기를 할 때 로스와 레이첼이 나오는 장면을 본다.
                         
Phoebe: Ok, so this is pretty much what's happened so far.
        자, 지금까지 일어난 일에 대해 대충 정리해보죠.

        Ross was in love with Rachel since, you know, forever,
        알다시피, 로스는 지금까지 쭈욱 레이첼을 사랑해 왔어요,

        but every time he tried to tell her,
        하지만 레이첼에게 고백하려 할 때마다,

        something kind of got in the way, like cats, and Italian guys.
        고양이나, 이탈리아 남자같은, 장애물이 방해해 왔습니다.

        Finally Chandler was like "forget about her" but when Ross was in China on his dig,
        결국 챈들러가 "레이첼은 잊어" 라고 충고하지만 로스가 중국으로 발국작업을 떠났을 때,

        Chandler let it slip that Ross was in love with Rachel.
        로스가 레이첼을 짝사랑하고 있다는 걸 실수로 말해버렸어요.

        She was like, "Oh my god." So she went to the airport to meet him when he came back,
        레이첼은, "오 세상에."하면서도 로스가 돌아오는 공항에 마중을 나갑니다,

        but what she didn't know was, that Ross was getting off the plane with another woman.
        하지만 레이첼이 예상하지도 못했던 건, 로스가 다른 여자를 데리고 비행기에서 내렸다는 겁니다.

        Uh-Oh! So, that's pretty much everything you need to know.
        어-오! 여기까지가, 여러분이 알아야 할 모든 이야기입니다.

        But, enough about us. So, how've you been?

[Scene, The Airport, continued from last season,
공항, 마지막 시즌부터 계속,

Rachel is waiting for Ross to come of the plane, when she sees he's coming off with another woman.]
레이첼이 로스가 비행기에서 오기를 기다리고 있을 때, 로스가 다른 여자가 같이 내리는 걸 본다.

Rachel: Oh my god. Oh my god.
        오 세상에. 맙소사.

       (She decides to make a break for it.) Excuse me. Move! Move! Emergency! Excuse me!
                       탈주를시도하다
       (레이첼은 달아나기로 결정한다.) 실례합니다. 비켜주세요! 비켜요! 급해요! 실례해요!

       (She tries climbing over a bench and falls down.)
        벤치를 넘어 가려다 떨어진다.

Ross: (seeing her) Rach!
      (레이첼을 보고) 레이첼!

Rachel: Oh, there you are! Hi! Oh, so, so, how was China, you?
        오, 거기 있었구나! 안녕! 오, 그래, 중국은 어땠어?

       (Hits him with the flowers.)
        꽃으로 로스를 친다.

Ross: It was, it was great.
      좋았어.

      Oh, what happened?
      오, 근데 이게 뭐야?
     
Rachel: What?
        왜?

Ross: You're bleeding.
      피가 나잖아.

Rachel: I am? Oh, look at that, yes I am.
        내가? 오, 이것봐, 진짜네.

        Enough about me, enough about me, Mr. Back from the Orient.
        괜찮아, 걱정마, 동양에서 돌아온 사람부터 얘기 해 봐.

        Come on. I wanna hear everything! Everything.
        어서. 모든 걸 듣고 싶어! 전부다.

       (Looks at Julie)
        줄리를 본다

Ross: Well, where do I start? This is Julie. Julie, this is Rachel.
      글쎄, 어디부터 시작하지? 이쪽은 줄리. 줄리, 여긴 레이첼이야.

Rachel: These are, these aren't for you.
        이건, 니 꺼가 아니고.

       (to Julie) These are for you.
       (줄리에게) 이쪽에다 줄거야.

       (Loudly, thinking she can't speak English.) Welcome to our country.
       (크게, 줄리가 영어를 못 할거라고 생각하고) 우리 나라에 오신 걸 환영합니다.

Julie: (Loudly, proving she can speak English.) Thank you. I'm from New York.
                증명하다
               (크게, 영어를 할 수 있다는 걸 증명하며.) 감사합니다. 전 뉴욕 출신이에요.

Rachel: Ok, well, not a problem. We'll just use them to stop the bleeding.
        그럼, 문제될 게 없네요. 그냥 이걸로 피나 멈추게 해야겠어요.

        Ok. Baggage claim? Ok.
                    청구하다
        그래. 가방 찾아야지? 좋아.

[Scene: Monica and Rachel's, the gang is waiting for Rachel to return from the airport with Ross.]
        모니카와 레이첼의 집, 모두 로스와 함께 공항에서 돌아오는 레이첼을 기다리고 있다.

Chandler:  No way!
           말도안돼!

Monica: I'm telling you, she went to the airport, and she's gonna go for it with Ross!
        정말이라니까, 공항으로 갔어, 오빠를 만나러!

Phoebe: Oh my god. This is huge. This is bigger than huge.
        세상에. 이건 사건이야. 사건보다 더 큰 사건.

        This is like, all right, what's bigger than huge?
        그러니까, 맞아, 사건보다 더 큰게 뭐지?

Joey: Um, this?
      음, 이 일?

Phoebe: Yes.
        그래.

Monica: Guys, you got your hair cut.
        너희들, 머리 잘랐구나.

Chandler: Yes, yes, we did, thanks to Vidal Buffay.
          그래, 그래, 잘라줬어, 비달 부페가.

Phoebe: 'Cause, you know,
         너희도 알지,

        (in that voice) if you don't look good, we don't look good.
        (같은 어투로) 당신이 만족하지 않으면, 우리도 만족하지 않아요.

         I love that voice.
         이 목소리 좋아.

Rachel: (entering, out of breath) Airport, airport. Ross, not alone, Julie, arm around her.
        (숨을 몰아쉬며, 들어온다) 공항, 공항에서. 로스, 혼자가 아니었어, 줄리, 팔짱을 꼈어.

         Cramp, cramp.
         심한복통
                  배, 배 아파.

Chandler: Ok, I think she's trying to tell us something.
          우리에게 뭔가 할 말이 있는거 같은데.

          Quick, get the verbs.
          빨리, 단어를 연결해 봐.
         

(She hits Chandler.)
레이첼이 챈들러를 때린다.

Rachel: (to Chandler) You, you, you said he liked me.
        (챈들러에게) 너, 너지, 로스가 날 좋아한다고 말한 게.

        (Ross and Julie enter) You, you slowpokes!

                 (로스와 줄리가 들어온다) 너, 너 왜 이렇게 느려!

Ross: That's all right, Rach, we got the bags.
      다 잘됐어, 레이첼, 가방 좀 찾느라구.

      Hi, hello.
      안녕, 잘 있었지.

      Julie, this is my sister Monica. This is Chandler.  Phoebe. 
      줄리, 내 동생 모니카야. 얘는 챈들러. 피비.

      Joey, what up?
      조이, 잘 지냈지?

Joey: What up?!
      잘 지냈지?!

Ross: Everyone, this is Julie.
      얘들아, 여기는 줄리.

Rachel: (out of breath) Julie.
        (숨을 몰아쉬며) 줄리야.

All: Ohh.
     오.

    (Happily) Hi!
    (반갑게) 안녕!
    
Julie: Hi, but I'm not here, you haven't met me.
       안녕, 하지만 여기 오는 게 아니었나 봐요, 여러분도 저를 안 만나구요.

       I'll make a much better first impression tomorrow

              첫인상을 좋게 하려면 내일 볼 걸 그랬어요

       when I don't have 20 hours of cab and plane on me.
       20시간을 택시와 비행기에서 시달렸거든요.

Ross: And bus.
      그리고 버스도.

Julie: Oh my god.
       맙소사.

Ross:  The screaming guy?
       그 비명지르던 남자?

Julie:  And the spitting?
        그리고 침도 뱉었잖아?

Ross: You gotta hear this story.
      너희들에게도 얘기 해 줄게.

Julie: We're on this bus, that's easily 200 years old...
       버스가, 200년은 된 거 같았어요...

Ross: 200 at least.
      최소한 200년.

Julie:  ...and this guy...
        ...거기다 이 남자는...

Rachel: And the chicken pooped in her lap.
                        헐떡거리는           
                여자 무릎에 빠져 헐떡거리는 얼간이야.

        Oh, I'm so sorry. I just gave away the ending, didn't I?
        오, 미안해요. 내가 말문을 막아버렸죠?

        Oh! It's just, I just heard this story in the cab, and it is all I can think about.
        오! 택시 안에서 들은 얘기가, 생각나서 그랬어.

Monica: This is amazing. I mean, how, how did this happen?
        너무 뜻밖이야. 도대체 어떻게 된거야?

Julie: Well, Ross and I were in grad school together.
       로스와 전 대학 동창이에요.

Ross: But we haven't seen each other since then.
      하지만 우린 졸업 후 까지 서로 본 적이 없어.

      Well I land in China, guess who's in charge of the dig.
      중국에서, 나 같은 공부벌레를 누가 뒷바라지 했겠어.

Rachel: Julie! Julie, isn't that great?
        줄리! 줄리지, 안그래?

        I mean, isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic?

Monica: (to Julie) It's an expression‎!.
        (줄리에게) 좋다는 표현이에요.

Ross: Well, we just wanted to say a quick hi, and then we're gonna go see the baby.
      환영회는 이만 마치고, 아기도 좀 보러 가야겠어.

Julie: And then we've gotta get some sleep.
       잠도 좀 자구.

Ross: Yeah, it's really 6:00 tomorrow night our time.
      그래, 우리 시각으로는 지금이 내일 저녁 6시거든.

Chandler: Well, listen, don't tell us what's gonna happen though, 'cause I like to be surprised.
          그럼, 나중에 한꺼번에 얘기해서, 나 좀 놀래켜줘.

(Ross and Julie exit)
로스와 줄리가 나간다

Rachel: Bye.
        잘가.

       (She closes the door and everyone tries to sympathize with her.)

[Scene: Central Perk, Ross and Chandler enter.]
        센트럴 퍼크, 로스와 챈들러가 들어온다.

Ross: Hey, Rach, can I get some coffee?
      안녕, 레이첼, 커피 좀 줄래?

Rachel: Yeah, sure.
        그래.

Ross: Thank you.
      고마워.

Chandler: Hey, Rach, can I get...
          안녕, 레이첼, 나도...

Rachel: Did you talk to him?
        물어봤어?

Chandler: Not yet.
          아직.

Rachel: Then, no.
        그럼, 없어.

(He goes to sit down next to Ross.)
챈들러는 로스 옆으로 가서 앉는다.

Chandler: So what the hell happened to you in China?
          대체 중국에서 무슨 일이 있었던거야?

          I mean, when last we left you, you were totally in love with, you know.
          떠났을때만 해도, 완전히 사랑한 상태였잖아.

Ross: I know, I know I was,
      나도 알아,

      but there was always this little voice inside that kept saying it's never gonna happen,
      하지만 기회는 다시 오지 않는다라는 작은 목소리가 항상 들렸어,

      move on. You know whose voice that was?
      움직여라. 그게 누구 목소리였는지 알아?

Chandler: God?
          신?

Ross: It was you, pal.
      너였어, 친구.

Chandler: Well, maybe it was God, doing me.
          신이 날 이용했나 보군.

Ross: Look, you were right.
      네 말이 맞았어.

      She looks at me and sees a friend, that's all.
      레이첼은 나를 볼 때 친구로만 여겨, 그게 전부야.

      But then I met Julie, and I don't know, we're havin' a great time.
      그리고 난 줄리를 만났지, 잘 모르겠지만, 우린 정말 좋은 시간을 보냈어.

      And I have to say, I never would've gone for it with her if it hadn't been for you.
      네가 아니었다면 난 줄리를 만나지 못 했을거야.

Chandler: Well, you owe me one, big guy.
          그럼, 나한테 한 턱 내야겠네.

Rachel: (To Ross) Here's your lemonade.
        (로스에게) 레모네이드야.

Ross: I didn't order lemonade.
      레모네이드 주문 안 했는데.

Rachel: Oh. Well then, you better go take that back because they're gonna charge you for that.
        오. 그럼, 네가 계산하는 거니까 직접 바꿔와.

Ross: But...
      하지만...

Rachel: Go-go-go-go, come on!
        어서 가-가-가-가, 빨리!

       (Ross goes over to the counte)
        로스가 카운터 쪽으로 간다

       (to Chandler) So uh, what did you find out?
       (챈들러에게) 그래 어, 뭐 알아낸 거 있어?

Chandler: He said...he said, he said that they're having a great time.
          로스가... 끝내주게 재밌었대.

          I'm sorry.
          미안해.

          But, the silver lining, if you wanna see it, is that he made the decision all by himself! 
                   밝은희망        
                    그런데, 다행인건, 이렇게 된게, 전부 로스 혼자서 계획한 거라는거야!

          Without any outside help whatsoever.
          그 누구의 도움도 안 받고 말야.
                        
Rachel: How is that the silver lining?
        그게 왜 다행이야?

Chandler: You have to really wanna see it.
          네가 꼭 알아야 하는 거니까.

[Scene: Monica and Rachel's, Ross and the gang is watching Sumo wrestling on TV.]
        모니카와 레이첼의 집, 로스와 친구들은 TV로 스모 레슬링을 보고 있다.

Ross: Ironically, these are the guys who were picked last in gym.
      신기하다, 저 친구들 체육관에서 봤었는데.

[Cut to Phoebe and Monica in the kitchen.]
부엌에 있는 피비와 모니카의 컷.

Monica: Pheebes, you know what I'm thinking?
        피비, 내가 무슨 생각하는지 알아?

Phoebe: Oh, ok.
        오, 알아.

        How, it's been so long since you've had sex, you're wondering if they've changed it?
        섹스한지 너무 오래돼서, 이젠 못 참겠다는 거지?

Monica: No, although now that's what I'm thinking.
        아냐, 그러고보니 그런 것도 같다.

Phoebe: All right, so what were you thinking?
        알았어, 그럼 무슨 생각했는데?

Monica: Well, I was thinking, that you gave the guys such great haircuts,

        I thought, maybe you'd like to do mine?

Monica: Why not?

Phoebe: Because, I'm just, I'm incredibly anal and an unbelievable control freak.

(The phone rings.)
전화벨이 울린다.

Joey: (answering the phone) Hello? Oh, hi. Yeah, hold on a second.
      (전화를 받는다) 여보세요? 오, 안녕. 네, 잠깐만요.

       Ross, it's Julie, for you.
       로스, 줄리전화야.

      (Throws him the phone.)
       조이가 전화를 던진다.

Ross: (on phone) Hello? Hi.
      (전화) 여보세요? 안녕.

Chandler: (entering) Hi. Anybody know a good tailor?
          (들어오며) 안녕. 누구 좋은 재단사 아는 사람?

Joey: Needs some clothes altered?
      옷 수선 하게?

Chandler: No, no, I'm just looking for a man to draw on me with chalk.
          아니, 아니, 그냥 몸 치수나 재 볼까 하구.

Joey: Why don't you go see Frankie?
      프랭키에게 가 볼래?

      My family's been goin' to him forever.
      우리가족은 항상 거기서 하거든.

      He did my first suit when I was 15. No wait, 16. No, 'scuse me, 15.
      15살 때 그 아저씨가 내 첫 양복을 해 줬어. 아니, 16살이다. 아니, 미안, 15살.

     (still confused) All right, when was 1990?
     (여전히 혼란스러워하며) 좋아, 1990년에 내가 몇살이었지?

Chandler: Okay.  You have to stop the Q-tip when there's resistance!

Ross: (on phone) Ok, ok, sweetheart, I'll see you later. Ok, bye. What?

      (Sits down next to Rachel)
       레이첼 옆에 앉는다

       Oh, that is so sweet. No, no, ok, you hang up. Ok, ok, one, two, three.
       오, 그런 배려까지. 아냐, 아냐, 됐어, 먼저 끊어. 좋아, 좋아, 하나, 둘, 셋.

      (Doesn't hang up and motions for Rachel to be quiet) Well you didn't hang up either.
      (끊지 않고 레이첼에게 조용하라는 태도를 보이고는) 자기도 아직 안 끊었네.

Rachel: She didn't hang up either!
        아직도 안 끊었구나!

Ross: Ok, no, no, you hang up. You, you, y...
      알았어, 아냐, 아냐, 먼저 끊어. 먼저, 먼저, 먼...

Rachel: (taking the phone and hanging it up)
         전화를 뺏어 끊는다

         Sorry, I thought you were talking to me.
         미안, 나보고 한 소린 줄 알았어.

Ross: Rachel! I'll just call her back.
      레이첼! 내가 다시 걸면 돼.

Rachel: Okay!
        그래!

Ross: (calls Julie back) Hi?  Sorry, we got disconnected...
                                            연락이끊어진
             (줄리에게 다시 전화한다) 여보세요? 미안, 끊겼어...

      (Walks away.)
       걸어간다.

Rachel: (to Monica)
         모니카에게

         Ok, ok, ok. How did this happen to me? How did this happen to me?
         어떻게 나한테 이런 일이 일어날 수가 있지? 어떻게 이런 일이 생길 수가 있냐구?

         A week ago, two weeks ago, I was fine. Ross was just Ross, just this guy.
         1주일 전에도, 2주일 전에도, 난 좋았어. 로스는 그냥 로스로만 여겼다구.

         Now he's Rrrooossss, oh, this really great guy that I can't have.
         이제는 로~스, 오, 접근도 못하는 대단한 사람이 돼 버렸어.

Monica: Sweetie, I wanted you to have him too.
        얘, 나도 네가 오빠랑 잘 됐으면 좋겠어.

Rachel: I know you did.
        무슨 말인지 알아.

        I'm just gonna deal with it, I'm just gonna deal with it.
        내가 알아서 처리할거야, 알아서 처리하겠어.

       (Ross comes by, smoching with Julie on the phone.)
        로스가 다가오더니, 전화로 줄리에게 뽀뽀하고 있다.
              
        I gotta get out of here.
        여기서 나가는 게 낫겠어.

       (Exits)
        나간다
       
Chandler: Ok, I don't care what you guys say, something's bothering her.
                                                          괴롭히다
                    뭔진 몰라도, 레이첼을 골치아프게 하나 봐.

[Scene: Monica and Rachel's, the next morning.]
        모니카와 레이첼의 집, 다음날 아침.

Joey: (to Chandler) You know, I think I was sixteen.
      (챈들러에게) 16살이었던 게 생각났어.

Monica: (to Phoebe) Please, just a little bit off the back.
        (피비에게) 제발, 조금만 다시 생각해 봐.

Phoebe: I'm still on "no."
        그래도 "싫어."

Rachel: (poking her head in from her bedroom)
         자신의 방에서 머리만 내밀고

         Uh, morning. Do you guys think you could close your eyes for just a sec?
         어, 좋은 아침. 너희들 잠깐 눈 좀 감아줄래?

Joey: No-no-no-no-no,
      싫어-싫어-싫어-싫어-싫어,

     (grabs his pants) I'm not fallin' for that again.
     (팬티를 붙잡고) 지난번처럼 당하진 않을거야.

Phoebe: What's goin' on?
        무슨일인데?

Rachel: Well, I sorta did a stupid thing last night.
        어젯밤에 내가 좀 멍청한 짓을 했어.

Chandler: What stupid thing did you do?
          그 멍청한 짓이 뭔데?

Paulo: (entering from Rachel's room) Bon giorno tutti!
       (레이첼의 방에서 나오며) 본 지오르도 투띠!

Phoebe: Ewww! (Gets up and walks away.)
        으! (일어나 달아난다.)

[Scene: Monica and Rachel's, continued from earlier.]
        모니카와 레이첼의 집, 계속.

Rachel: Ok, Paulo, why don't you just go get dressed, and then you be on your way, ok, bye-bye.
        파올로, 이제 그만 옷 입고, 볼 일 봐야지, 그래, 안녕.

       (Paulo goes into his room.)
        파올로가 레이첼의 방으로 들어간다.

Monica: Rachel, how did this happen?
        레이첼, 어떻게 된거야?

Rachel: I don't know, I just kinda ran into him last night.
        나도 몰라, 어젯밤에 우연히 만났어.

Phoebe: Where?
        어디서?

Rachel: At his apartment. Is this juice?
        파올로 아파트에서. 이거 주스니?

Joey: Whoa, whoa. And the fact that you dumped him because he hit on Phoebe?
      후아, 후아. 그럼 피비 대신에 복수 해 준거야?

Rachel: Oh God, I know I'm a pathetic loser.
        오 세상에, 나도 내가 불쌍한 실패자라는 거 알아.
                    
Monica: Honey, you're not pathetic, you're sad.
        넌 불쌍하지 않아, 슬픈거야.

Chandler: People do stupid things when they're upset.
          사람이 화가 나면 바보 짓을 하게 돼나 봐.

Monica: My god, if I had a nickel for every guy I wish I hadn't...
        난 돈으로 세상 남자를 다 사더라도 그렇게는...

       (Everyone looks at her), but this is about your horrible mistake.
       (모두 쳐다본다), 하지만 넌 좀 심한 실수를 했다.

(Ross and Julie enter.)
로스와 줄리가 들어온다.

All: Hi!
     안녕!

Ross: Hi. Sorry we're late but we were—well, there was touching.
      안녕. 늦어서 미안해-좀, 부비고 오느라구.

Paulo: (entering) Hey, hey Ross.
       (나오며) 안녕, 로스.

Ross: Hey, Paulo. What are you doing here?
      안녕, 파올로. 여기서 뭐하는 거야?

Paulo: I do Raquel.
       라켈이랑 있지.

Ross: (to Rachel) So, uh, he's back.
      (레이첼에게) 그럼, 어, 다시 돌아온거야.

Rachel: Yeah, he's back. Is that a problem?
        그래, 돌아왔어. 문제있어?

Ross: No, not a problem.
      아니, 문제될 건 없지.

Rachel: Good! I'm glad it's not a problem.
        잘됐네! 문제될 게 없다니.

Phoebe: (to Paulo) Ok, you're gonna have to not touch my ass.
        (파올로에게) 내 엉덩이 만지지 마.

Chandler: Well, in spite of the yummy bagels and palpable tension,
                                                 명백한        긴장
                    맛있는 빵도 있고 분위기도 죽여주지만,

          I've got pants that need to be altered.

Joey: Hey, Chandler, when you see Frankie, tell him Joey Tribbiani says hello.
      챈들러, 프랭키 아저씨 보면, 조이 트리비아니가 인사했다고 전해 줘.

      He'll know what it means.
      그게 무슨 뜻인지 알거야.

Chandler: Are you sure he's gonna be able to crack that code?

Monica: (to Phoebe)
         피비에게

         You know it's funny, the last time Paulo was here, my hair was so much shorter and cuter.
         웃기지, 지난 번 파올로가 여기 왔을 땐, 내 머리가 더 괜찮았는데.

Phoebe: All right. Ok, but, but! 
        좋아. 알았어, 하지만, 하지만!

        You have to promise that you will not be all like control-y and bossy and Monica about it.
