O wild West Wind, thou breath of Autumn's being,
Thou from whose unseen presence the leaves dead
are driven, like ghosts from a enchanter fleeing,//

Yellow, and black, and pale, and hectic red,
Pestilence-stricken ultitudes:

오 거친 서풍이여, 그대 가을 존재의 숨결이여,
그대 보이지 않는 존재로부터 죽은 잎새(->낙엽)들이

If I were a swift cloud to fly with thee;

하늘을 나는 그대 방랑의 동반자가 될 수 있다면,
그대의 하늘을 나는 속도를 능가하는 것이
조금도 공상처럼 느껴지지 않았던 그때처럼,

절실한 필요로 기도하며,이처럼 그대와 겨루고 있지 않을 것이다.

O lift me as a wave, a lead, a cloud!
I fall upon the thorns of life! I bleed

오 파도처럼, 낙엽처럼, 구름처럼 나를 들어 올려주오!
나는 인생의 가시밭길에 쓰러져서 피 흘리고 있소!

A heavy weight of hours has chained and bowed
One too like thee: tameless, and swift, and proud.
세월의 무서운 힘이 그대와 똑 같은 나를 구속하고 구부러뜨리고 있소.
길들지 않고, 재빠르고, 도도했던 과거의 나를.

Make me thy lyre, even as the forest is :
What if myl leaves are falling like its own!
The tumult of thy mighty harmonies
나를 그대의 수금으로 만들어 주오, 마치 숲이 그대의 수금이 듯이,
내 잎새들이 숲의 잎새들처럼 떨어진들 어떻겠는가!
소용돌이치는 그대의 강력한 화음이

Will take from both a deep autumnal tone.
Sweet though in sadness.
둘 다로부터 슬프지만 달콤한,
깊은 가을 곡조를 얻으리라.

Be thou, Spirit fierce,
My spirit! Be thou me, impetuous one!//
거친 혼령이여, 그대가
내 영혼이 되어주오. 그대가 내가 되어주오, 격렬한 영혼이여!

Drive my dead thoughts over the universe,
Like withered leaves, to quicken a new birth;

And, by the incantation of this verse.
시든 낙엽 같은 내 죽은 사념을 온 우주 위로 몰고 가서,
새로운 생명을 소생시키시오, 낙엽이 봄에 새로운 초목이 되듯이.
그리고 이 시구(詩句)의 주문으로,

Scatter, as from an unextinguished hearth
Ashes and sparks, my words among mankind!

Be through my lips to unawakened earth//
흩날려주오, 마치 꺼지지 않은 화로에서

If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?
