Emery told attendees that while programmes such as the Future Aircraft Carrier (CVF), Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) and the Future Surface Combatant offered significant opportunities to UK Industry in the longer term, there were significant question marks over the affordability of the projected shipbuilding programme.
