It is difficult for me. The literary kind like poetry includes the inner meaning with the meanings of the words itself. So it is difficult for me who don't get the plain meanings of the words to understand the whole meaning through the poem.
첫댓글 시간이 허락된다면 읽어보시면 작은 도움이 되리라 생각됩니다. 시에는 보통 운율이 있기 마련인데 여기서는 맨뒤의 운이 어울려있습니다. 영시에서는 보통 각운을 표기할때 이처럼 표기하기도 합니다.
맨 마지막 연을 보면 where / despair /prayer 모두 '어ㄹ'로 발음이 공통으로 끝나기에 이를 a-a-a라고 합니다. 그 다음 me/ thee 미/ 디이 '이'로 끝나서 b-b라고 표기합니다.
이 시는 모두 첫연에서부터 각운이 a-a-a-b-b 형식으로 진행됩니다. 첫 연: now/ -brow/ -throw (ow공통) 이처럼 운율이 담겨있습니다.
