W: So you're saying this new type of paper will reduce the number of paper jams?
M: That's right. Not only that, but it's made of 50% recycled material, which companies love because it promotes an environmentally friendly image.
W: Well, we still have a large supply of the original paper, but once it's used up, I'll look into purchasing some of the Skybond White, as you call it.
M: Sounds good. I'll leave you with a carton of Skybond White. Please test it out and call me.
[44-46]
M: Are you looking for a gift or something for your home?
W: Actually, my company wants to liven up the office with some potted plants. The waiting area is especially plain with nothing but a few posters on the walls.
M: Were you thinking of seasonal plants which you can rotate every three months, or more permanent ones?
W; Good question. Probably something permanent that's not too difficult to care for. I don't think any of us are experienced at raising plants.
[47-49]
W1: Joan, have you finished planning your conference scheudle yet?
W2: Not yet. On Saturday morning I want to attend the keynote address at 10:30 am. Then there's Lisa Peter's seminar on women in management, at 2:30 pm. That lasts three hours.
W1: How about Sunday?
W2: Well. there are two things I want to attend: a workshop on Internet marketing at 11:00, and then a lunchtime discussion session that starts an hour later. Unfortunately, the workshop will last two hours, so I can't attend them both.
[50-52]
W: Your men were supposed to paint the first floor. When I got home this evening, I found the workers painting the second floor walls. Now that floor is a mess, the first floor hasn't been touched, and I'm hosting my niece's wedding reception in three days.

W: Thank you. Please make sure the job is completed by tomorrow evening.

M: Hi, I'd like to make a reservation for a single room. I'm flying into Chicago on Wednesday August 9 and will be staying three nights.

M: Great, how much is that?
W: $79 for the first two nights and $99 for the third, since it falls on the weekend. If you make the booking with a Choice Bank credit card, I can take 10% off the total.

W: I was starting to worry I might miss my flight to New York. Thank you so much for the ride.
M: Don't mention it. After I drop you off, my house is just a 30-minute drive from the airport. Anyway, we're lucky the traffic isnt too bad. We should arrive two hours before your departure time.
W: Excellent. Well, I've got a copy of your proposal. I'll have 90 minutes on the plane to go over it. As soon as I get back to my office in New York, I'll contact you via email with my response.

I am both profoundly happy and sad today. I'm happy because Tim Atherton, who is retiring after 25 years at Regal Motors, has earned a well deserved rest. Generous and loyal, he has stayed with Regal despite being offered lucrative positions elsewhere. Back in 1982, when Tim joined the team, we had just a single car dealership. Now we have 12. With Tim's help, our profits have grown 7 percent per year, consistently beating the industry average. On the other hand, this is sad day for me, because I'll really miss working with my good friend. And now, it's my sincere honor to present Mr. Tim Atherton.

In business news, experts are predicting big chances in the energy sector. According to a report released today, over 50% of consumers are dissatisfied with the service they receive from their energy provider. The most unpopular firm is National Electric, the third biggest energy supplier in the country. 70% of National Electric's customers believe the company operates inefficiently and provides poor service. David Howell, the head of the Energy Consumers' Board, thinks that National Electric and other energy suppliers must be surprised by these findings. However, Mr. Howell said the study will also encourage local energy providers to lower their prices and provide better service to consumers.
