3. 오늘의 묵상 칼럼 :  소망의 닻을 내리는 곳, 그리고 들으시는 아버지

   세상을 살아가다 보면 우리는 본능적으로 의지할 대상을 찾습니다. 그것이 물질이든, 사람의 힘이든, 혹은 나 자신의 능력이든 우리는 각자의 '도움'과 '소망'을 어딘가에 두고 살아갑니다. 그러나 그 모든 것들이 얼마나 쉽게 흔들리고 무너지는지 깨닫는 데에는 그리 오랜 시간이 걸리지 않습니다. 시편 146편 5절은 이 불확실성의 시대를 살아가는 우리에게 진정한 복이 무엇인지 명확하게 선포합니다. "야곱의 하나님을 자기의 도움으로 삼으며 여호와 자기 하나님에게 자기의 소망을 두는 자는 복이 있도다."

   여기서 '야곱의 하나님'이라는 표현은 참으로 은혜롭습니다. 야곱은 완벽한 사람이 아니었습니다. 그는 속이는 자였고, 숱한 실패와 두려움 속에서 고군분투하던 연약한 인간이었습니다. 그러나 하나님은 그런 야곱의 하나님이 되어 주셨고, 그의 인생을 끝까지 책임지시는 환난 날의 도움이 되셨습니다. 이처럼 세상의 헛된 것이 아닌, 언약을 반드시 지키시는 신실하신 하나님께 소망의 닻을 내리는 사람이야말로 참으로 복된 사람입니다.

   그렇다면, 크고 위대하신 하나님이 나의 도움이 되신다는 이 놀라운 약속은 어떻게 우리의 일상 속에서 실제가 될 수 있을까요? 오스왈드 챔버스는 그 비밀을 정확히 짚어줍니다. "하나님의 아들이 당신 안에 계시다면 아버지는 언제나 당신의 기도를 들으실 것입니다." 우리의 소망이 막연한 낙관주의로 끝나지 않고 생명력 있는 기도로 이어지는 통로는 바로 '우리 안에 계신 예수 그리스도'입니다.

   요한복음 11장 41절에서 예수님은 나사로의 죽음이라는 절망적인 무덤 앞에서 이렇게 기도하십니다. "아버지여 내 말을 들으신 것을 감사하나이다." 아직 기적이 일어나지 않은 절망의 한가운데서도 예수님은 아버지가 자신의 음성을 듣고 계심을 완벽하게 확신하셨습니다. 놀랍게도, 우리가 예수 그리스도를 마음에 모시고 살아갈 때, 이 예수님의 확신은 곧 우리의 확신이 됩니다. 내 안에 계신 하나님의 아들로 말미암아, 창조주 하나님은 '나의 아버지'가 되시며 나의 작은 신음에도 귀를 기울이시는 완벽한 도움이 되십니다. 하나님께 소망을 둔 자의 기도는 결코 땅에 떨어지지 않습니다.

[복음으로의 초대] 당신의 작은 신음에도 귀 기울이시는 분

   혹시 지금 누구에게도 말하지 못한 무거운 짐을 홀로 지고 걸어가고 계십니까? 굳게 믿고 의지했던 사람이나 환경이 무너져 내려 깊은 상실감에 빠져 있지는 않으신지요. 세상의 모든 도움은 한계가 있고, 우리가 땅에 두는 소망은 언젠가 바닥을 드러내기 마련입니다. 그러나 오늘, 당신의 인생을 영원히 붙들어 줄 변함없는 도움의 손길이 당신을 기다리고 있습니다.

   하나님은 완벽한 사람, 자격 있는 사람만을 찾지 않으십니다. 실패하고 넘어져 상처투성이가 된 '야곱'과 같은 우리의 모습 그대로를 사랑하시며, 우리의 참된 도움이 되기를 원하십니다. 그리고 이 놀라운 은혜를 누리는 길은 너무나 단순합니다. 바로 하나님의 아들, 예수 그리스도를 당신의 마음속에 구주로 모셔 들이는 것입니다.

   예수님을 당신의 마음에 모실 때, 기적이 시작됩니다. 우주를 창조하신 전능하신 하나님께서 당신의 아버지가 되시며, 오스왈드 챔버스의 말처럼 아버지는 '언제나' 당신의 기도를 들으실 것입니다. 예수님이 무덤 앞에서도 "내 말을 들으신 것을 감사하나이다"라고 고백하셨듯, 당신의 삶에 어떤 죽음과 같은 절망이 찾아와도 하늘 아버지는 당신의 기도를 들으시고 생명의 빛을 비춰주실 것입니다.

   더 이상 혼자 아파하지 마십시오. 세상의 헛된 것에 소망을 두고 실망하는 삶을 멈추고, 오늘 예수 그리스도 안에서 당신의 기도를 들으시는 하나님 아버지의 품으로 나아오십시오. 야곱의 하나님을 당신의 도움으로 삼는, 참으로 복된 인생이 시작될 것입니다. 이 은혜와 사랑의 자리로 당신을 간절히 초대합니다.

4. Today’s Devotional Column : Where We Anchor Our Hope, and the Father Who Hears

   As we journey through life, we instinctively look for something to rely on. Whether it is wealth, human strength, or our own capabilities, we all place our "help" and "hope" somewhere. However, it does not take long to realize how easily these worldly foundations can shake and crumble. Psalm 146:5 clearly proclaims what true blessing is for those of us living in this age of uncertainty: "Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God."

   The expression‎ "the God of Jacob" is deeply full of grace. Jacob was not a perfect man. He was a deceiver, a fragile human being who struggled through numerous failures and fears. Yet, God chose to be his God, becoming his very present help in times of trouble and taking responsibility for his life until the end. Truly blessed is the one who anchors their hope not in the vain things of the world, but in the faithful God who always keeps His covenants.

   How, then, does this amazing promise—that the great and mighty God becomes our help—become a reality in our daily lives? Oswald Chambers precisely points out the secret: "If the Son of God is in you, the Father will always hear your prayers." The channel through which our hope transitions from vague optimism into life-giving prayer is "Jesus Christ residing within us."

   In John 11:41, standing before the hopeless tomb of dead Lazarus, Jesus prays, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me." Even in the midst of despair, before any miracle had occurred, Jesus had perfect absolute certainty that the Father was listening to His voice. Amazingly, when we live with Jesus Christ in our hearts, this certainty of Jesus becomes our own. Because of the Son of God dwelling within me, the Creator God becomes "my Father," and He becomes my perfect help who listens even to my faintest groan. The prayers of those who place their hope in God never fall to the ground.

[An Invitation to the Gospel] The One Who Listens to Your Faintest Groans

   Are you currently carrying a heavy burden all by yourself, unable to share it with anyone? Have you fallen into a deep sense of loss because the people or circumstances you firmly trusted have collapsed? All worldly help has its limits, and the hopes we place on this earth will eventually run dry. But today, an unchanging hand of help—one that will hold your life forever—is waiting for you.

   God does not look only for perfect or qualified people. He loves us just as we are, scarred and stumbling like "Jacob," and He desires to be our true help. And the way to experience this amazing grace is profoundly simple: it is to invite the Son of God, Jesus Christ, into your heart as your Lord and Savior.

   When you invite Jesus into your heart, a miracle begins. The Almighty God who created the universe becomes your Father, and just as Oswald Chambers said, the Father will "always" hear your prayers. Just as Jesus confessed, "I thank you that you have heard me" even in front of a tomb, no matter what death-like despair comes into your life, the Heavenly Father will hear your prayers and shine the light of life upon you.

   You no longer have to suffer alone. Stop placing your hope in the empty things of the world that only lead to disappointment, and come today into the arms of God the Father who hears your prayers in Jesus Christ. A truly blessed life—making the God of Jacob your help—will begin. We earnestly invite you into this place of grace and love.
