To bring forth a flower
is to split the skin
and push up a red surge.

Bearing endless pain
with clenched teeth
and at last, in a single moment,
the body’s knots loosen softly
and scatter rays of light
in every direction.

The primal source grows bright,
and cool laughter spreads like a waterfall.

The biting spring wind knows this:
as deep as endurance,
the earth holds firm
as if it will never yield,
and yet at the very moment
when it crosses its limit,
the world we have long awaited
finally opens in a flood of light.

기다림

김혜숙

꽃을 피운다는 것은
살결을 가르고
붉은 기운을 밀어 올리는 일

끝이 보이지 않는 통증을
이를 악문 채 건너
마침내 한순간
온몸의 매듭이 스르르 풀리며
빛의 파편을
사방으로 흩어내는 일

모태는 환해지고
폭포처럼 시원한 웃음이 번진다

꽃샘바람은 알고 있다
견딤의 깊이만큼
대지는 끝내 내주지 않을듯
단단했다가
한계를 넘는 순간에야
비로소
우리가 기다리던 세계가
환하게 열린다는 것을
