I am much concerned about what is going on here on the globe where all people are supposed to live in peace and prosperity.
However, things do not seem to direct that way at all.
In this terbulent time of political turmoil, everything around seems to fall apart just enough to give much concern to the people directly and indirectly involved.
Dragging the current issue regarding the crisis between the U.S. and Iraq has not only proved President Bush to be an irresolute man lacking leadership but also malignantly affected everyday livelihood of virtually every individual around the world.
It's probably the same in Korea of what's going on with soaring prices of most essential goods needed for the citizens' everyday life.
Here in the states, the gasoline price has increased for nine weeks in a row, now reaching over two dollars per gallon, and that's about 40 percent increase in two months. I heard the gas price is much higher in Korea.
In other areas, there are signs of economic deterioration found without any difficulty.
I was awed when I heard that the federal reserve prime rate has hit the all time low of 1.25% and was further shocked that the federal prime rate for Korea is actually at negative due to the combination of high inflation and low productitivity. I am not sure if I used the right term since I am not an economist but the bare truth is that things don't look too promising for the time being.
Furthermore, the anguish over the pessimistic outlook on the possible clash between the two extremes, North Korea and the U.S., seemingly looks to bring nothing but the gloomy future. Experts say the war seems enevitable if the situation continues to develop in this manner.
What do we, the weak citizens of the globe, can do to prevail this crisis?
I can't think of any smart answer but to wait to see the light at the end of the dark tunnel hoping that much abberation by the responsible politicians is brought once again to the common sense.
It will be much too late for the irresolute politicians to face the reality only by the poignant regret when they witness the calamity.
I wish I can be a politician just for one day to pound on the back of the heads of those fools and tell them to wake up.
sorry for my intolerance....
In this time of much hardship, please stay strong, everyone~
