SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) -- Cheong Wa Dae on Sunday reaffirmed that South Korea has no intention of provoking or irritating North Korea, after Pyongyang again blamed the South for drone incursions into the North and demanded an explanation.

In a statement, the Office of National Security at Cheong Wa Dae said, "The government once again confirm‎s that it has no intention of provoking or irritating the North side."
​
"The government will look into the latest drone incident through a joint military-police probe and promptly disclose its results," the office said, also pledging continued efforts to ease inter-Korean tension and build trust.

On Sunday, Kim Yo-jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, called on Seoul to provide a detailed explanation, a day after the North Korean military claimed that the South violated the North's sovereignty by sending drones in September and on Jan. 4.
​
The South Korean military denied sending the drones or operating the models found in the North, raising the possibility that private entities may have been behind them and pledging an investigation.

(서울=연합뉴스) 임형섭 기자 = 청와대는 11일 북한의 한국 무인기 침투 주장과 관련해 "정부는 북측을 도발하거나 자극할 의도가 없음을 다시 한번 확인한다"는 입장을 밝혔다.

청와대 국가안보실은 이날 공지를 통해 "정부는 이번 무인기 사안에 대해 군경 합동 조사를 통해 진상을 규명하고 결과를 신속하게 공개할 것"이라며 이같이 전했다.

아울러 "정부는 남북 간 긴장을 완화하고 신뢰를 쌓아가기 위한 실질적인 조치와 노력을 지속할 것"이라고 설명했다.

앞서 조선인민군 총참모부 대변인은 전날 성명에서 작년 9월과 지난 4일 한국이 침투시킨 무인기를 격추했다고 주장했고, 이에 국방부는 우리 군이 해당 무인기를 보유하지 않고 있다며 민간 무인기일 가능성을 철저히 조사하겠다고 밝혔다.

이재명 대통령 역시 "(민간 무인기의 침투가) 사실이라면 한반도 평화와 국가 안보를 위협하는 중대 범죄"라며 군경 합동수사팀의 신속하고 엄정한 수사를 지시했다.
