새로운 차원의 예수의 말씀 / 도마복음 공부 699 111 Jesus said, "The heavens and the earth will be rolled up in your presence. And the one who lives from the living one will not see death." Does not Jesus say, "Whoever has found himself, of him the world is not worthy“? 111 예수께서 말씀하셨다. “하늘과 땅은 너희 보는 앞에서 위로 말려 올라갈 것이니라. 그러나 살아계신 이로 인하여 살아가는 자는 죽음을 맛보지 않으리라“ 예수가 말씀하지 않는가? ‘누구든지 자신을 발견하는 자에게는 세상이 아무 가치가 없느니라‘고.. 굉장히 무서운 말씀이다. 우리 눈 앞에서 실제로 하늘들과 땅이 말려 올라간다는 말씀도 무섭지만 그보다 더 무서운 것은 그런 상황에서도 살아계신 아버 지와 생명 줄을 연결할 수 있어야 한다는 말씀이 더 무섭다. 물질 감각세계에 살아가는 우리는 어쩔 수 없이 오감을 통해 들어오 는 감각적 세계가 강력한 영향을 받고 살게 되어 있다. 반면 하나님 아버지는 일단 보이 지 않는 세계, 믿음 속에 존재하시 는 분이다. 진리를 깨닫고 기뻐하며 그 안에서 안식과 평안을 누리다가도 조금만 몸이 아프거나, 인간관계에서 문제가 생기거나, 돈 문제 등이 발생하거나 하면 순식간에 누리던 평안과 기쁨은 온데간데 없고 온 몸과 마음이 불안과 근심에 얽매이고 마는 것을 쉽게 발견하게 된다. 그러다보니 스스로에 대해서도 ‘아 내 수준이 이것 밖에 안되는가? 내 믿음은 다 어디로 가 버렸는가?‘ 하며 낙담하게 되고, 내가 큰소리치던 모습을 본 주위 사람들도 ‘뭐 저래?’ ‘말로만 큰 소리쳤구만’하고 실망을 금할 수 없게 되는 것이다. 누군들 진리 안에, 나와 함께 하시는 아버지에 대한 믿음 안에 거하려고 노력해 보지 않았겠는가? 그러나 거의 매번 발견되는 자신의 모습은 너무 쉽게 무너지고, 쓰러진다는 것이다. 제법 강해 보였던 믿음은 안개처럼 사라지고, 큰소리쳤던 아버지와의 동행은 마치 처음부터 혼자였던 것처럼 여겨질 정도다. 그러니까 믿음이라는 것이 현실이 아니라 꿈 속의 삶과 같은 것이다. 깨어나자 곧 사라져 버리는... 대부분의 사람들이 이 때문에 심각한 고통과 좌절을 겪고 있다. 진리를 듣고 의식에 깨우침을 얻을 때는 마치 죽음도 불사하고 천하가 무너 져도 이겨낼 것 같았는데 불과 몇 시간, 아니 몇 분도 지나지 않아 세상의 조그만 근심거리나 자존심이 상하는 말을 듣게 되면 즉시 불안에 사로 잡히고, 분노에 휩싸여 아무것도 보이지 않는 상황에 빠지는 것이다. This is a very frightening message. The idea that the heavens and the earth will roll up before our eyes is terrifying, but what is even more frightening is the idea that, even in such a situation, we must still be connected to the living Father and the lifeline of life. Living in the sensory material world, we inevitably become greatly influenced by the sensory world that enters through our five senses. On the other hand, God the Father exists in an unseen world, dwelling within our faith. Even when we realize the truth and rejoice in it, finding rest and peace within, we often discover that as soon as we feel a little physical pain, encounter problems in our human relationships, or face financial difficulties, the peace and joy we were enjoying vanish instantly, and our entire being—both body and mind—becomes entangled in anxiety and worry. As a result, we start to question ourselves, thinking, "Is this all I am capable of? Where has my faith gone?" We become disheartened, and those around us who witnessed us speaking boldly about our faith may think, "What happened to them? They were all talk." Who among us hasn’t tried to live within the truth, striving to abide in faith in our Father, who is with us? Yet, almost every time, we find ourselves easily collapsing and falling. The faith that seemed strong disappears like mist, and our proud proclamation of walking with the Father begins to feel as if we had been alone from the beginning. It’s as if faith is not reality but a life lived in a dream, which vanishes as soon as we awaken. Most people experience severe suffering and frustration because of this. When they hear the truth and have an awakening in their consciousness, they feel as if they could face death or withstand the collapse of the world. But just a few hours—or even minutes—later, when a minor worry or a hurtful word comes along, they are immediately seized by anxiety and consumed by anger, falling into a state where they can no longer see clearly. 새로운 차원의 예수의 말씀 / 도마복음 공부 700 그리고 나서 또 한참이 지나서야 비로소 깨닫게 된다. ‘아, 내가 또 시험에 빠졌구나. 내가 또 아버지를 놓쳤구나‘ 그런데 그런 자각과 반성을 아무리 해도 쉽고 고쳐지지 않고 변화의 기미는 좀처럼 나타나지 않는다. 그래서 고행도 해 보고, 금식 철야, 부흥회 등을 통해 도움을 받거나 상담과 수행 등 온갖 방법을 다 동원해 보지만 그리 큰 효과를 볼 수 없다. 모두 일시적인 도움만 될 뿐 어느새 제자리로 돌아가 있다. 이런 일이 반복되면 그 좌절감은 이루 말할 수 없게 된다. ‘도대체 나는 구제불능이란 말인가?’ 그래서 마지막 힘과 용기를 내어 ‘하나님 제발 좀 도와주세요’하고 부르짖어 보지만 별 반응이 없다. 마치 안 계신 것처럼 무응답이다. 그 전에는 그래도 몇 번 무슨 체험도 일어나고 기적 같이 보이는 현상도 나타나고 했는데... 이젠 그 마저도 언제 일인가 싶을 정도로 아득하다. 이젠 도움을 요청할 힘 마저 약해 지고 분노와 원망, 낙담의 단계를 넘어 심지어는 하나님에 대해 심히 냉소적이 되거나 비웃고 대적하는 지경에까지 이르는 경우도 적지 않다. 그렇게 심각한 영혼의 병에 걸린 사람들을 적지 않게 보았다. 진리와 도에 대해서도 매우 차가운 반응을 보이게 된다. ‘다 말 장난이고, 착각일 뿐이지 실제 어려움과 고통이 닥치면 아무 소용도 없어.. 몸이 아프면 도니 진리니 다 날아가 버리고 오직 고통에서 벗어나고 싶은 생각 밖에 없지. 도는 무슨 얼어 죽을 도야‘ 하는 상황에까지 이를 수 있다. 그러니까 ‘믿음(의식)’이 ‘감각’을 넘어 서지 못하는 것이다. 지금 예수가 말씀하는 ‘면전에서 하늘과 땅이 말려 올라 갈 것이다‘ 고 하시는 것은 우리의 ‘감각’이 경험할 수 있는 가장 무서운 상황 이다. 이이상 공포스러운 현상이 어디에 있겠는가? 이런 상황이 되면 거의 모든 사람은 혼비백산할 것이요, 정신을 잃어버릴 정도로 공포에 빠질 것이다. 그런데 이런 상황에서도 ‘살아계신 이로 인해 살아간다‘는 것, 즉 ’그러한 순간에도 자신과 함께 하셔서 생명을 붙들고 계시는 아버 지를 신뢰하고 견뎌낼 수 있다‘면 도대체 그가 인간이겠는가? 그런데 예수는 지금 그 이야기를 하고 있다. 우리로 그런 수준에 이르기를 촉구하고 있는 것이다. 그리고 그 자신이 실제로 그런 모습을 십자가를 통해 보여주었다. 그리고 그것이 우리가 이루어야 할 최종적인 승리요, 완성의 순간 임을 알려 주었다. 이 말은 그 외에 다른 것은 아무 가치가 없다는 말이다. Then, after some time passes, we finally realize, "Ah, I've fallen into a test again. I’ve lost sight of the Father again." But no matter how much we become aware of this or reflect on it, it doesn’t easily change, and there is rarely any sign of transformation. So, we try all sorts of things—penance, fasting, overnight prayers, revival meetings, seeking help through counseling or spiritual disciplines—but none of it brings lasting results. At best, they provide temporary relief, and before long, we find ourselves back where we started. When this happens repeatedly, the frustration becomes indescribable. "Am I truly beyond hope?" we wonder. In a final act of strength and courage, we cry out, "God, please help me!" But there is no response. It feels as if He’s not there at all. In the past, there were some experiences, even phenomena that seemed miraculous, but now even those feel like distant memories. At this point, we might lose even the strength to ask for help, falling beyond frustration into anger and resentment, and some even become deeply cynical toward God, mocking or opposing Him. I have seen many people fall into this kind of severe spiritual illness. They become cold and indifferent toward truth and the path of righteousness. They say, "It’s all just wordplay and illusions. When real difficulties and suffering hit, none of it matters. If your body hurts, all your talk about truth and righteousness flies out the window, and all you want is to escape the pain. Who cares about truth in that moment?" In such cases, "faith (consciousness)" fails to surpass "sensation." When Jesus says, "Before your eyes, the heavens and the earth will roll up," He is describing the most terrifying scenario our "senses" could ever experience. What could be more frightening than this? In such a situation, almost everyone would be terrified, and many would be so overwhelmed with fear that they might lose their sanity. Yet, even in such a scenario, to "live by the living Father"—to trust in the Father who holds your life even in that moment and endure—what kind of human could achieve this? And yet, this is exactly what Jesus is talking about. He is urging us to reach this level. He demonstrated this through His own life on the cross. And He revealed that this is the ultimate victory, the moment of completion that we must all attain. It means that everything else is of no value in comparison. +2
