Nairobi — Dallas Mavericks German superstar, Dirk Nowitzki married his long-time sweetheart, Jessica Olsson in a traditional African ceremony in Kenya.<br /><br />Multiple entertainment websites in the United States report the couple wed last weekend in the first of the two wedding ceremonies they have planned where the 7 foot groom delivered the bride price in a manner Kenyans are accustomed to MediaTakeOut.com reported.<br /><br />"It was beautiful, Dirk delivered the dowry in cattle wearing traditional garb," an insider told the urban website.<br /><br />According to sources, Nowitzki and Jessica born of a Swedish father and Kenyan mother decided that they wanted to have two separate wedding ceremonies, one for her mother's family and a second in Germany, where basketball ace's kin could attend.<br /><br />Nowitzki proposed to his long time flame on Valentine's Day this year after being incorrectly reported numerously in the past.<br /><br />The German has been with the Mavs since 1998 and is the 34th player in NBA history, and the first European, to hit the 20,000-point milestone.<br /><br />Apart from being the Mavericks' all-time leader in points, rebounds, field goals, field goal attempts, 3-pointers, 3-point attempts, free throws, and free-throw attempts, Nowitzki has made the NBA All-Star games eleven times, and the All-NBA Teams twelve times.<br /><br />He was voted NBA MVP of the 2006-07 NBA season, becoming the first European player to receive the honour, as well as the MVP of the 2011 NBA Finals having led his team to the title where they scorched Miami Heat.<br /><br />"Jessica is probably the best thing that happened to me this year. After the incidents in 2009, I never thought that I was so quickly on what can engage new. She is a great woman, smart and intelligent. Now let's see just how that develops over time with us. It feels great in any case; we wait for what will come of it," Nowitzki said of his new wife in an interview with ballerswives.com last year.<br /><br /><br />Olsson works as a manager at the Art Gallery of George Michael in Dallas, Texas.<br /><br />Before dating Olsson, Nowitzki, 34, had a previous high-profile relationship with his ex-fianc?e, Cristal Taylor, a woman who was jailed on a theft charge and had claimed to be pregnant with his child.
