The Avatamsaka Sutra, Chief in Goodness (현수품 39-9)

[眞如華]

     39-9.

     鬱單越處金焰色      閻浮提中靑寶色

     餘二天下雜莊嚴      隨衆所樂而應之

     울단월처는 금불꽃 빛깔이며

     염부제 가운데는 푸른 보석 빛깔이며

     나머지 두 천하는 잡색의 장엄이니

     중생의 좋아하는 바를 따라서 맞추었느니라.

In the region of Uttara, the color of golden flames;

In Jambudvipa, the color of sapphire;

In the other continents, their adornments are mixed--

These are given according to the likes of the creatures.

In the region of Uttara; 울단월처는

the color of golden flames; 금불꽃 빛깔이며

In Jambudvipa; 염부제 가운데는

the color of sapphire; 푸른 보석 빛깔이며

In the other continents; 나머지 두 천하는

their adornments are mixed; 잡색의 장엄이니

the likes of the creatures; 중생의 좋아하는 바를 따라서

These are given according to; 맞추었느니라
