벨루가(Beluga)의 꿈/신승희

내가 사는 곳은 작은 수조

동그란 유리벽

나의 하루는

메인스프링처럼 돌아가요

고개를 들어도

하늘이 없어요

구름 대신

차가운 유리만 내려다봐요

내가 누구였는지

엄마도, 갈매기의 날갯짓 소리도

모두 먼 파도의 그림자 같아요

가끔 세상이 보고 싶어

더 높이 뛰어오르지만

알 수 없는 함성만 메아리로 들려와요

밤이 오면

붉은 산호의 향기를 떠올리고

로렐라이 언덕을 그리며 잠들어요

그러다 문득

별이 내 이름을 부르면

꿈속에서 파도를 따라 헤엄쳐요

언젠가는

바다가 부르는 노래를 듣고

별빛 아래 자유로이 숨 쉬게 되겠지요

Beluga's Dream

The small water tank where I live

is enclosed by curved glass walls.

My days revolve in circles,

like the mainspring of a clock.

When I lift my head,

I cannot see the sky.

In place of clouds,

cold glass looks down on me.

I no longer know who I am.

My mother,

the fluttering cries of seagulls—

all seem like distant shadows and echoes

of waves long gone.

Sometimes, longing to see the world beyond,

I leap higher than ever before,

only to hear unfamiliar voices

echoing back to me.

When night falls,

I remember the scent of red coral

and drift into sleep,

yearning for Lorelei Hill.

If, all at once,

the stars call out my name,

I swim through the waves

within my dreams.

Someday,

I may listen to the songs of the sea,

breathing freely

beneath the starlit sky.
