2) 가정에서 변하지 않는 축은 아버지 - 1

변하지 않는 것이 뭐냐? 오늘날 남녀들이 좋아서 결혼하는데 결혼도 변하지요? 어머니 아버지의 사랑도 변하지요? 부모가 자식 대하는 사랑도 변하지만 그건 덜 변합니다.

우리 인간세계의 모든 것이 변화무쌍한데 그 중에서 한가지 공통적으로 변하지 않는 것을 우리가 찾는다면 그것은 어미의 사랑입니다. 아비는 낳는 데까지예요. 아비보다 어미가 새끼를 더 사랑하지요? 안 그래요?

물론 사랑하는 데는 아비를 중심 삼고 사랑한 다는 걸 모르면 안 되지요. 사랑의 씨가 어디서 나와요? 생명의 씨가 어머니에게서 나오는 것이 아니라구요. 어머니는 살이고 아버지는 뼈예요. 아버지의 것을 받아 가지고 나온 것이거든요. 그렇기 때문에 아버지를 생각하고 어머니 생각을 해야 된다구요. 

뼈가 없으면 모양이 되겠어요? 전부 다 찰떡같이, 찰떡 칠 때 붙는 것처럼 전부 다 후루룩 달라붙어 있겠지요? 아버지 뼈로부터 뼈가 생겼으니 그 살이 효과가 있는 것이지, 뼈가 없으면 무슨…. 

그렇기 때문에 집안에 있어서 그래도 변하지 않는 사람이 있다면 아버지가 제일 변하지 않아요. 아버지는 무섭지요? 무섭지만 자리를 지키려고 요사스럽게 왔다갔다 안 합니다.

그러나 어머니는 뺑뺑 돌아요. 아버지는 한 자리에서 돌고 있기 때문에, 축과 같은 자리에 있기 때문에 변하지 않는 거예요. 여러분 그렇잖아요? 

요전에 청평 갔더니 터빈(TURBINE ; 원동기)과 제너레이터(GENERATOR ;발전기)가 도는데 그것을 연결시키는 샤프트(SHAFT ; 축, 굴대)가 이렇게 굵더라구요.

1분에 450회 회전을 하는데 눈으로 보게 되면 움직이지 않는 것 같다구요. 그러나 그 옆에는 아주 야단이 벌어지지요? 마찬가지로 어머니도 아버지를 중심삼고 도는 거예요. 돌기 때문에 어머니는 변한다구요. 동쪽에 가서는 동쪽의 모양을 갖고, 남쪽에 가면 남쪽, 서쪽에 가면 서쪽의 모양을 갖는다구요. 

그렇기 때문에 집안에서 그래도 변하지 않는 사람을 찾아보면 할아버지예요. 그다음엔 할머니겠어요, 아버지겠어요? 「아버지.」 알긴 아는구만. 그다음엔 누구? 그의 아들, 손자예요. 전부 남자라구요.

여자들은 변하기 때문에 여자에게는 비밀 얘기를 말이예요, 전부 다 하지 말라고 하는 겁니다. 어머니가 있을 때는 말이예요, 부자끼리 비밀 얘기를 할 때는 '어머니는 좀 나가 계세요' 이런다구요. (웃음) 동양사상이 그렇게 되어 있다구요. 중요한 얘기는 아버지하고 아들하고 하게 되어 있지 어머니하고 해서는 안 돼요. 내일이라도 바람나 가지고 다시 시집갈지 알아요? (웃음)

그것도 왕한테 간다면 좋지만 원수한테 갈지 알아요? 그래서 중요한 문제는 아버지와 할아버지하고 의논해야 된다는 거예요. 안 그래요? 왜? 중요하니까. 중요하다는 것은 변하지 않는 것을 말하는 거예요. 영원히 변하지 않을 수 있는 주체라는 것은 영원히 귀한 거예요. 이렇게 되는 거예요. (141- 280)

2) 家庭で変わらない軸は父親 - 1

変わらないものは何でしょうか？　今日、男女が互いに好きになって結婚するのに、その結婚も変わるでしょう？　お父さんお母さんの愛も変わるでしょう？　親が子どもに対するときの愛も変わりますが、それは大きくは変わりません。

人間世界のすべてのものは常に変化しますが、その中で共通して変わらないものを探すと、それは母親の愛なのです。父親は生むところまでです。父親よりも母親のほうが子どもをより深く愛するでしょう？　違いますか？　

もちろん、愛するのには父親を中心として愛することを知らなければなりません。愛の種はどこから出てきましたか？　生命の種はお母さんから出てくるのではないのです。お母さんは肉でありお父さんは骨です。お父さんのものをもらって出てきたのです。だから、お父さんを思って、（次に）お母さんを思わなければならないのです。

骨がなかったら形ができますか？　骨がないと、皆餅のように、餅をつくときくっつくように、皆べたっとくっついているでしょう？　お父さんの骨から骨が生まれたからこそ、肉に効果があるのです。なければ何の…。

だから、家庭において変わらない人がいるとしたら、お父さんが最も変わりません。お父さんは怖いでしょう？　怖いですが位置を守るために、軽率に行ったり来たりしません。しかし、お母さんはくるくる回ります。お父さんは一つの場所で回転しているために、軸と同じ位置にいるために変わらないのです。皆さんそうでしょう？

この前、清平へ行ったら、タービン（原動機）とジェネレーター（発電機）が回っているのですが、それを連結させるシャフト（軸）がこんなに太いのです。一分間に四百五十回回転するのですが、目で見ると動いていないように見えます。

しかし、その周りには、大変な騒ぎが展開しているでしょう。それと同じように、お母さんもお父さんを中心として回ります。回るから、お母さんは変わるのです。東へ行っては東の形態を持ち、南へ行っては南、西へ行っては西の形態を持つのです。

したがって、家の中で変わらない人を探してみると、おじいさんでしょう。その次はおばあさんでしょうか、お父さんでしょうか？　（お父さん）。知ってはいるのですね。その次はだれですか？　

その息子、孫息子です。全部男性なのです。女性たちは変わるので秘密の話を全部してしまうなというのです。お母さんがいるときは、父親と息子だけで秘密の話をするときには、「お母さん、ちょっと出ていてください」と言うのです。（笑い）東洋思想はそのようになっています。

重要な話はお父さんとするようになっており、お母さんとしてはだめなのです。明日にでも浮気をして、もう一度お嫁に行くかも知れないでしょう？　（笑い）

だから、重要な問題はお父さん、おじいさんと相談しなければなりません。違いますか？　なぜでしょうか？　重要だから。重要というのは、変わらないことをいいます。永遠に変わらずにいられる主体だというものは、永遠に貴いのです。（一九八六・三・二、本部教会）

2) The Father is the Unchanging Pillar of the Family - 1

What is an unchangeable thing? These days man and woman love each other and get married; nevertheless, the marriage is still changeable. Is the love of father and mother also changeable?

Even parental love toward children may be changeable, but it may be less changeable than the other is. If we seek one thing in common which is not changeable among every changeable thing around our human world, that is mother's love. A mother loves a child more than the father does, doesn't she? Of course we should be aware that the father is the center of love.

Where does the origin of love and life come from? The origin of life doesn't come from the mother. The mother can be compared to flesh and father can be like bone. After taking something from the father, then the mother can have a child. This is why we have to think of father and mother. No shape can be formed without bone. 

So if there is an unchanged person in a family, that one must be the father. You may be afraid of your father, aren't you? Father is somewhat hard of access.

Also he usually is inclined not to act rashly and go in an orderly way to keep his position and dignity. But the mother is not like that. Although the father makes so many turns in one place, he will keep his position like a pole held its place. Don't you think so? 

Some time ago I went to ChungPyung and saw a turbine and generator turning. And I found that the shaft which connects both side-parts is very thick. It can make 450 turns in one minute.

When I saw it turning, it looked as if it didn't move. In the same manner, the mother makes turns, centering on the father. Because of her turning, she can be changeable. If she goes to the East, she forms the shape of the East, if she makes turns to the West, she makes the shape of the West. In the same way, she does so, toward the South and the North. 

For this reason, when we look for a person who is not changeable, that one is the grandfather. Then who do you think will be the next one? the grandmother or the father? [It's father] Well, you knew that. Who is the next, then? It's the grandson, the son of a father.

All of them are male. You had better not talk about all these secret things to women, because a woman is changeable. In talking about something secret, when the mother is around them, the husband and the son may say, "Mother, could you stay out for a moment." (laughing). It indicates what oriental philosophy is. 

For some important matter, it is not the father and mother but the father and son who are supposed to talk about that. Who knows if she would be false to her husband and get married again? (laughing) It might be somewhat O.K if she married a king, but what if she got married to an enemy? You don't think so?

It means that you have to consult with the grandfather and father about an important matter. Why do we have to do so? That's because they are unchangeable beings.

Something important requires something unchangeable. The subject which is never changeable is something eternally valuable. That's the way it is. (141-280)
