匿(익)은 감추는 것이니 마음으로부터 마음을 감추고 마음으로부터 마음을 속이면 마음은 이미 텅 비게 되는 것이다.

  Ik(匿,익) means to hide. If you conceal your heart from your own heart and deceive your heart

  from your own heart , your mind is already rendered utterly empty.

멈출 때는 단지 흙과 나무와 같으며 움질일 때는 단지 고깃덩어리의 시체일 뿐인 것이다.

  When still, you are merely like soil and wood;

  when moving, you are nothing more than a corpse made of flesh.

단지 흙과 나무로 어찌 일을 논할 수 있겠으며 단지 고깃덩어리 시체가 어찌 사람을 따를 수 있겠는가?

  How can one discuss affairs with mere soil and wood,

   and how can a mere corpse of flesh lead or interact with other  people?

匿은 藏也니 藏心於心하고 (익은 장야니 장심어심하고)

  Ik(匿,익) means to hide(藏,장). It is to hide one′s heart within one′s own heart, 

欺心於心이면 心已空矣라 (기심어심이면 심이공의라)

  And if one deceives one′s own heart, the mind is already rendered empty.

止則土木이요 行則肉尸니 (지즉토목이요 행즉육시니)

  When at rest, succh a person is mere soil and wood;

   when in motion, they are nothing but a corpse of flesh.

土木而能論事하며 肉尸而能追人乎아. (토목이능론사하며 육시이능추인호아.)

  How can soil and wood discuss affairss, and how can a corpse of flesh follow or relate to other people.

 [Translation, 풀이]

숨김으로서 이익을 얻는 다고 생각하는 순간 상대방에게 주장할수있는 기존의 권리를 스스로 포기한 것이다.

  The very moment you think you are gaining an advantage by hiding something,

   you have voluntarily surrendered the existing rights you could otherwise assert

   against the other party.

이 경우 심지어는 속이는 상대가 부모형제이건 사제지간이던 친구지간이던 상관없이 남이 되어버리는 것이다.

  In this case, regardless of whether the person you are deceiving is a parent,

   a sibling, a teacher, a studeent, or a friend, they instantly become a complete stranger to you.

      ● 藏心於心(장심어심 / 欺心於心(기심어심) : '마음 속에서 마음을 감추고 속인다' 는 뜻으로,

            영어로는 " within one′s own heart ' 혹은 'From oneself'로 표현하여 스스로 기만하는

      ● 土木(토목 -Soil and wood) : 아무런 감정이나 생기가 없는 무생물을 비유합니다.

           한국어의 다양한 인간관계 표현을 영어권에서 직관적으로 이해할 수 있도록 나열했습니다.
