여호와여 주의 장막에 유할 자 누구오며

LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?

주의 성산에 거할 자 누구오니이까

Who may live on your holy hill?

정직하게 행하며 공의를 일삼으며

He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous,

그 마음에 진실을 말하며

who speaks the truth from his heart

그 혀로 참소치 아니하고 그 벗에게 행악지 아니하며

and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong

그 이웃을 훼방치 아니하며

and casts no slur on his fellowman,

그 눈은 망령된 자를 멸시하며

who despises a vile man

여호와를 두려워하는 자를 존대 하며

but honors those who fear the LORD,

그 마음에 서원한 것은 해로울지라도 변치 아니하며

who keeps his oath even when it hurts,

변리로 꾸이지 아니하며

who lends his money without usury

뇌물을 받고 무죄한 자를 해치 아니하는자니

and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

이런 일을 행하는 자는 영영히 요동치 아니하리이다.

저가 또 엘리야의 심령과 능력으로 주 앞에 앞서 가서 아비의 마음을 자식에게, 거스리는 자를 의인의 슬기에 돌아오게 하고 주를 위하여 세운 백성을 예비하리라 누가복음 1:17

"It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, TO TURN THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS BACK TO THE CHILDREN, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." Luke 1:17

때때로 믿는 우리에게도 고난이 닥칩니다. 혹은 주변 사람들이 고난을 당하는 것을 보기도 합니다. 성도들에게 주어지는 고난은 결코 무의미하지 않습니다. 오늘은 이 고난의 의미에 대해 살펴보려 합니다. 오늘 본문은 주님의 임재하심에 앞서 세례요한이 와서 주의 길을 예비할 것을 말씀하고 있습니다. 그런데 이 세례요한의 역사를 엘리야의 심령과 능력이라고 표현하고 있습니다.

엘리야는 불의 선지자입니다. 그는 바알의 선지자 400명에 맞서 싸우면서 하늘의 불이 내려와 그들을 사르게 하였고 마지막에는 불수레와 불병거를 타고 승천하였음을 성경이 기록하고 있습니다. 이 불은 믿는 우리들에게 고난을 상징합니다. 그래서 주께서 재림하실 때 나타날 증거는 환란이라고 하신 것입니다. 2000년전 사람들은 주의 임재하심에 앞서 엘리야가 먼저 오기를 기다렸고 오늘 믿는 이들은 주님의 재림에 앞서 환란을 기다리고 있습니다.

그러나 실제로는 엘리야가 불수레와 불병거를 타고 다시 온 것이 아니고 세례요한이 그의 심령과 능력으로 왔던 것입니다. 마찬가지로 오늘날 주님의 재림에 앞서 환란이 올 것을 기다리고 있지만 실상 주님은 각 개인의 심령에 오셔서 연합하심으로 그 역사를 이루게 되어 있습니다. 하지만 성경의 예언이 헛된 것은 아니기에 오늘 우리는 성도들에게 임하는 고난이 단순한 것이 아니라 이것이 주의 임재하심과 연관되어 있음을 알아야 합니다.

고난은 엘리야의 역사를 합니다. 먼저 아비의 마음을 자식에게로 돌이키게 합니다. 자식은 나의 열매입니다. 내가 살아온 삶의 과정을 되돌아보게 하고 그 결과를 책임지게 합니다. 다음은 거스리는 자를 의인의 슬기에 돌아오게 합니다. 이는 자아가 모든 것의 주체였던 마음에서 이제 자신의 삶에 임재하시고 동행하시는 주님의 마음을 헤아릴 수 있게 됨을 의미합니다. 그리스도와 연합함을 아는 것이 모든 지혜의 근본입니다.

그리고 주를 위하여 세운 백성을 예비합니다. 이는 하나님께서 그들의 삶에 함께 하시고 모든 것들을 주관하시게 됨을 말합니다. 모든 고난은 결코 쉽지 않습니다. 그러나 그 고난은 결코 무의미하지 않습니다. 이를 통하여 주님의 오실 길이 예비되고 주께서 임재하시고 함께 하시는 삶이 이루어지게 됩니다. 그것이 주님의 초림에 대한 세례요한의 준비이고 또 주님의 재림시에 예언된 환란에 대한 참된 의미입니다.

그러면 주와 연합한 이후에도 크고 작은 고난은 연속되어야 할까요? 그렇지 않습니다. 밭을 만들기 위해서는 쟁기가 필요하지만 일단 씨를 심은 후에는 쟁기를 다시 사용하지 않습니다. 우리의 신앙이 죽도록 같은 과정을 반복하는 것이 아니라 한 과정을 지나면 역사하시는 방식도 달라집니다. 주와 연합한 세계 안에 있는 자들은 이제 주 안에서의 부활을 기다립니다. 이는 각자의 인격 안에서 주의 인격으로 회복되고 충만해 지는 것을 말합니다.

흔히 부활은 주님의 역사적 재림 때에 이루어질 것으로 기다리지만 분명 주님이 말씀하시기를 “하나님의 아들의 음성을 들을 때가 오나니 곧 이 때라. 듣는 자는 살아나리라.”고 하셨습니다. 이는 우리가 살아가고 있는 현재의 삶에서 모든 것이 이루어진다는 말입니다. 그리고 그렇게 부활하는 인격은 나의 것만이 아니고 주님의 것이기도 합니다. 이를 두고 주의 재림이라 합니다.

Sometimes even those of us who believe face hardships. Or we see those around us suffer. The hardships given to the saints are by no means meaningless. Today, we will look at the meaning of this hardship. Today's text says that John the Baptist will come and prepare for the Lord's path before the Lord's presence. However, the history of John the Baptist is expressed as Elijah's spirit and ability.

Elijah is a prophet of fire. He fought against the 400 prophets of Baal, and the Bible says that the fire of heaven descended upon them, and eventually he ascended to heaven on a cart and a chariot. This fire represents hardship for those of us who believe. That is why he said that the evidence that will appear when the Lord comes is a rebellion. Two thousand years ago, people waited for Elijah to come first before the Lord's reign, and today those who believe are waiting for a rebellion before the Lord's reign.

However, in reality, Elijah did not come back on a cart and a firebomb, but John the Baptist came with his spirit and ability. Similarly, today, before the coming of the Lord, we are waiting for a disturbance, but in reality, the Lord is supposed to come to each individual's spirit and achieve its history by uniting. However, since the Bible's prophecy is not futile, we must know that the hardships faced by the saints today are not simple, but are related to the Lord's presence.

Challenges are Elijah's history. First, I turn my father's heart back to my children. Children are my fruit. They make me reflect on the process of my life and take responsibility for the consequences. Next, those who go against return to the wisdom of the righteous. This means that in the mind that the ego was the subject of everything, it is now possible to understand the heart of the Lord who is present in and accompanying you in your life. Knowing unity with Christ is the foundation of all wisdom.

And we prepare the people who have established for the Lord. This means that God will be with them in their lives and be in charge of all things. All hardships are never easy. But the hardships are never meaningless. Through this, the way of the Lord's coming is prepared, and the life that the Lord is present and with is achieved. That is John the Baptist's preparation for the coming of the Lord and the true meaning of the disturbance predicted at the coming of the Lord.

Should hardships, large and small, continue even after union with the Lord? No. Ploughs are required to create fields, but once the seeds have been planted, the plough is not used again. The way we history is changed after one process, rather than repeating the same process so that our faith dies. Those in a world united with the Lord now await rebirth in the Lord. This refers to the restoration and fulfillment of the Lord's personality within each personality.

It is often expected that the resurrection will take place during the Lord's historical reign, but the Lord certainly said, "The time to hear the voice of God's son will come. The listener will come to life." This means that everything is accomplished in the present life we live in. And the personality that is resurrected is not only mine, but also the Lord's. This is called the Lord's Second Coming.
