The copyrights on intellectual properties created in 1929 will expire as of the new year.

And that includes Popeys the sailor.

He first appeared in the newspaer strip, Timble theater but it's only that version of Popeyes 

The Steamboat Willie version of Mickey Mouse became public dormain in 2022.

But a dozen of mickey cartoon will soon be public.

That includes the Karnival kids the first time Mickey spoke.

The song "Aint's misbehavin", "Singing in the rain", Tiptoe through the Tulips" also become public dormain as will the first Marx brothers movie "The Coconuts".
