The Avatamsaka Sutra, Chief in Goodness (현수품 41-8)

[眞如華]

     41-8.

     十刹塵數衆生所      悉施樂具經一劫

     彼之福德未爲勝      信此法者爲最勝

     열 세계 티끌 수의 중생이 있는 곳에

     다 즐길 거리를 보시하며 한 겁을 지내더라도

     그것의 복덕은 수승함이 되지 못하거니와

     이 법을 믿는 것은 가장 수승함이 되느니라.

If one provides comforts for an eon

To the homes of beings numerous as atoms in ten lands,

His merit is not to be considered supreme--

One who believes this teaching is most excellent.

If one provides comforts
