Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from Psalm 108.

In this devotional, Pastor Cymbala reads, “Human help is worthless.”

That doesn’t seem encouraging!

The blessing in it, however, comes /from knowing that [the only help () we need] is from God.

When we stop [focusing on the abilities of others],

we’ll be able to see [all //that the Lord can do]!

* 명사로 쓰인 help ; 도움

* 지시 대명사 That ; 앞서 언급된 내용을 대신함

* 불자 seem의 보어인 형역 현분사 encouraging!  고무적인

* 전목인 동명사구 knowing that [the only help (that) we need] is from God.

* that절의 주어인 명사구 the only help (that) we need ; 관+형+형절/관대절 (the only help=that=목적)

* 보어인 전치사구 from God.

* 목적인 동명사구 [focusing on the abilities of others], 

* 주의 ; 동명사는 과거나 현재의 동작설명에 쓰이므로 지금 집중을 하고 있는 일을 멈추라는 의미임

* 주의 ; stop의 목적으로 미래 의미인 부정사를 쓰면 아직 한 일이 아니기에 '집중하기 위하여 멈추다'가 됨

  같은 논리로 remember [focusing on the abilities of others]는 집중했던 것을 기억하라

                      remember [to focus on the abilities of others]는 집중할 것을 기억하라

* 숙어 be able to~ = can (능력 의미로 해석되나 can처럼 숙달된 능력이 아니고 일시적인 능력을 의미한다 함)

   물론 able to see~를 형용사구로 할 수도 있지만 able은 여전히 능력설명이 되며 시제 활용상 

   can의 과거형인 could를 쓰면 가정으로 오해할수 있으므로 'was able~'로 쓰면 확실하고 미래도 가능; will be able~

* see의 목적인 명사구 all //that the Lord can do (목) 대명사+형절/관대절 (all=that=목적)
