Anthony's Knicks are on a league-best 10-game win streak, amazing in itself. But his alma mater, Syracuse, is chasing another national title at the Final Four, a decade after Anthony led the net-cutting ceremony during his lone season in orange. Had Melo hit this torrid pace earlier, and not been sidetracked by injuries, he might have made the MVP race a whole lot closer. He's earned the top spot this week, averaging 36.5 points and seven rebounds.

Durant played a game-high 45 minutes in Thursday night's critical 100-88 win over the Spurs as both teams continue jockeying for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoff chase. Durant did it all against the Spurs, finishing with 25 points (on 10-for-20 shooting, 2-for-3 from deep), nine rebounds, six assists, three blocks and a steal. The Spurs have found out that Durant brings a much more versatile package to the table than he did last season.

A week worth of inactivity (a sore hamstring was the official reason given) is enough to make anyone drop in our weekly rankings. When the entire body of work is considered, James has a head-and-shoulders lead on the pack. A 27-game win streak and the Heat's insurmountable lead in the Eastern Conference playoff chase forced coachErik Spoelstra into resting him. That's something that's likely to pay off for LeBron and the Heat in the postseason.

Parker's ankle and leg issues might not be completely over. He missed the Spurs' win over the Magic on Wednesday with a sore left ankle and didn't look like himself against the Thunder Thursday night on TNT, finishing with just two points on 1-for-6 shooting and four assists in just 25 minutes in a 100-88 loss. In an ominous sign for Spurs' fans, he hobbled off the floor with shin pain. Parker was a legit MVP candidate for much of the year. Without him, the Spurs are hurting.

The Clippers are in the midst of their own drama as the regular season draws to a close. It's a strange place to be in, putting the finishing touches on a rare (for the Clippers) 50-win season and having to fight rumors that there is locker room drama (as reported by T.J. Simers of the Los Angeles Times) and perhaps a crack in the coach-player dynamic. But Paul should apologize to no one for infusing that organization with a win-or-go-home attitude.

He might not know it and probably doesn't care, but triple-double Kobe Bryant is just as much fun to watch as the Black Mamba. In fact, if the Los Angeles Lakers want to secure that eighth and final seed in the Western Conference playoffs, they might need more of the former. The Lakers have been better this season when Bryant's game involves him getting the rest of the team involved, something he's needed to do lately with Steve Nash injured.

His critics will point out that Westbrook took one more shot than Kevin Durantdid in the win over the Spurs. Those of us capable of moving past that foolishness will remind you that Westbrook finished with 27 points (on 9-for-21 shooting), seven rebounds and seven assists. OKC has evened up the season series with the Spurs and moved into the pole position for the top seed in the Western Conference.

Like LeBron James, Wade has been showing off the finer points of his expansive high-end wardrobe the past week while sitting most of the week. Wade needs the rest more than anyone, given his recent injury history and penchant for having to play through pain this time of year. The Heat need their superstars fresh for a playoff run that most everyone expects to last for quite some time.

Gasol had a big game in a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday without Nikola Pekovic around to slow him down. He worked the Timberwolves for 21 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks. Gasol's chances of earning a first-or second-team All-NBA nod at center this season are pretty strong, what with Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum sure to be out of the mix.

Harden missed back-to-back games with a sore foot. The good thing is the Rockets were able to prevail against the Clippers and Orlando Magic in his absence. He got right back to the business of abusing opposing defenders in Wednesday's 112-101 win over the Sacramento Kings. Harden's 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and two blocks against the Kings serves as his latest entry on a season-long MVP checklist.

객관성이 없긴한데 이주만의 플레이 만으론 여기에 이름 올릴 수 없죠. 최근 이주의 선수로 뽑힌 JR 스미스의 이름을 찾아볼 수 없듯이.
