◇검사역할 대폭 축소, “靑서 제안”

중수청 법안에 있던 45조를 삭제한 것에 대해서는 “저희는 최대한 톤다운하거나 수정하려고 준비했다”며 “그걸 나름대로 고치려고 했더니 (청와대 측이) 통째로 들어내는 게 좋겠다. 통편집(하자고 한 것)”이라고 했다.

45조는 수사관이 수사를 개시할 때 피의자·범죄사실 요지·수사 경과 등을 검사에게 통보하고, 검사가 의견 제시·협의를 요청할 수 있도록 한 조항이다.

검사의 역할을 대폭 축소하자고 주장해왔던 당내 강경파들의 주장을 이 대통령이 들어줬다는 것이다.

◇“봉욱 민정수석 논의에 참여 안했다”

정 대표는 “결과적으로 보면 대통령의 검찰개혁에 대한 의지, 결단 그 덕분”이라고 평가한 뒤 “검사들의 수사지휘 영향력을 차단했듯 (최종안) 논의 과정에서도 차단했다”며 “전혀 (검사의) 입김이 작용할 수 없었다”고 말했다.

봉욱 청와대 민정수석이 논의에 참여했냐는 물음에 정 대표는 “아니었다”며 “(홍익표 정무수석이) 많은 역할을 했고 고맙게 생각하고 있다”고 했다.

정 대표는 이 대통령이 전날 “과정 관리가 좀 그랬던 것 같다”고 언급한 점을 두고는 “정부에서 태스크포스(TF)를 만들어 당과 충분히 소통해야지 왜 그걸 제대로 하지 않았느냐, 충분히 하지 않았느냐는 말씀으로 저는 이해했다”고 말했다.

◇Significantly Reducing Prosecutors’ Roles, “Proposal from Cheong Wa Dae”
