대전 자동차 부품 공장 화재 현장에서 실종자 시신 1구가 추가로 수습됐다. 현재 남은 실종자는 총 3명이다.

21일 대전소방본부 등에 따르면, 이날 낮 12시 10분쯤 공장 동관 1층 남자 화장실에서 실종자 1명의 시신이 수습됐다. 이로써 사망자는 11명으로 늘었다. 남은 실종자는 3명이다.

소방 관계자는 “붕괴된 동관 주차장 뒤편 부분에 남은 실종자들이 있을 것으로 추정된다”며 “향후 중장비를 이용해 수색할 계획”이라고 했다.

앞서 전날 오후 11시 3분쯤 공장 2층 휴게실 입구에서 실종자 1명이 심정지 상태로 발견됐고, 이어 이날 오전 0시 20분쯤 공장 3층 헬스장에서 9명이 추가 발견됐다. 이 10명은 모두 사망했다.

소방 당국 관계자는 “헬스장은 공장 3층 구석에 있다”며 “사망자 9명은 불을 피해 그쪽으로 갔다가 변을 당했을 가능성이 있다”고 설명했다.

대전경찰청은 현재까지 10명 중 1명의 신원을 확인했다고 밝혔다. 나머지 인원에 대해서도 지문과 유전자(DNA) 감정 등을 통해 신원을 확인할 예정이다.

또 수사부장을 팀장으로 한 131명 규모의 전담팀을 편성해 화재 원인을 조사하고, 피해자 보호팀을 꾸려 피해자 지원에도 나섰다.

경찰과 소방은 당초 21일 오전 11시쯤 발화부 추정 지역에서 1차 합동 감식을 진행할 예정이었다. 하지만 내부 회의가 길어지면서 오후에 감식이 진행될 것으로 보인다.

전날 오후 1시 17분쯤 대전 대덕구 자동차 부품 회사인 안전공업에서 난 화재로 현재까지 10명이 사망하고, 4명이 실종된 상태다. 부상자는 59명으로 중상 25명, 경상 34명으로 집계됐다. 부상자 중 2명은 소방대원이다. 이 중 1명은 구조 과정에서 추락하는 사람과 부딪혀 병원에 입원한 상태다.

A fire authority official explained, “The gym is located in a corner on the third floor of the factory,” adding, “The nine deceased individuals likely tried to escape the fire by going there but met with an unfortunate accident.”
The Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they have confirmed the identity of one out of the 10 individuals so far. They plan to identify the remaining individuals through fingerprint and genetic, DNA, analysis, among other methods.
