[眞如華]

     19.

     一鉢乞食千家飯,      孤僧杖竹萬里游;

     隨緣應化莫擁有, 緣畢放身撒兩手.

     한 사발로 천 가구의 양식을 걸식하며,

     스님 홀로 죽장 짚고 만리길 간다;

     인연 따라 탁발과 교화를 하나

     소유하지 말아야 하고, 인연이 다하면

     육체의 구속을 풀고 두 손을 놓는다.

Carrying a bowl filled with alms

from a thousand households, I am

a lone monk with a bamboo cane

who has travelled ten thousand

miles; knowing that all comes

and goes according to causes and

conditions, when causes and

conditions dissipate I let go of

what’s in both hands.
