O: Hey,John! I hear you made a career change a few months ago.
J: Yep! Now I'm working as a full-time freelance voice acto.
O: What was your big break?
J: I went to a studio one day to wait for my friend Amy to finish recording. The engineer liked my voice and asked me to record some samples.
O: How lucky! I assume Amy put in a good word for you.
J: Yeah! She's been my good luck charm since the beginning.

J: The most important skill had to learn was to be able to read a script cold, meaning one I've never seen before.

O: It sounds like you cover a lot of ground every day.
J: Well, for now I'm taking every job I'm offered, but eventually I want to specialize in video games.
O: I always had a feeling you would take the world by storm!
J: Thanks! It won't happen anytime soon, but I think I've got a good reputation already.

O: Did I hear your voice on a TV commercial recently?
J: If you mean the tag line for the sports drink, then yes. I had butterflies in my stomach when I saw the script!
O: I imagine it was pretty stressful. But I know you put your best foot forward.
J: I did my best! But I still have a long way to go before I feel like I've paid my dues in this business.
O: You're pretty humble for the guy who is the voice of Vitamin Power.
