(서울=연합뉴스) 고동욱 기자 = 이재명 대통령은 5일 부활절을 맞아 "대립과 분열이 아닌 평화, 증오와 갈등이 아닌 사랑으로 나아가는 부활의 기적이 오늘날 우리 사회에 이뤄지길 간절히 소망한다"고 밝혔다.

이 대통령은 이날 페이스북에서 "부활의 주님께서 주시는 복된 평강(평안)과 은혜가 온 나라와 국민 위에 충만히 임하길 기도한다"며 이같이 적었다.

이 대통령은 이 글에서 성경 속 요한복음의 한 구절인 '너희에게 평강이 있을지어다'를 인용하며 "부활하신 예수 그리스도께서 두려움에 떨던 제자들에게 나타나 전하신 첫 말씀"이라고 소개했다.

이어 "이 말씀은 중동전쟁으로 인한 불안 속 각자의 자리에서 애쓰며 살아가고 있는 우리에게도 변함없는 위로와 용기가 된다"고 했다.

그러면서 "대한민국은 한마음으로 뜻을 모아 이 위기를 지혜롭게 극복해 나갈 것"이라고 강조했다.

Lee voices hope for peace in Easter message

SEOUL, April 5 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung on Sunday expressed hope for peace and for overcoming uncertainty sparked by war in the Middle East in an Easter message.

"(I) sincerely hope that the miracle of the Resurrection -- leading toward peace, rather than confrontation and division, and love, rather than hatred and conflict -- will be realized in our society today," Lee wrote on social media platform X.
​
He also cited the Bible verse, "Peace be with you," spoken by Jesus to his disciples after his resurrection in the Easter message.
​
"These words offer unwavering comfort and courage to us who strive to live our respective lives amid the anxiety caused by the Middle East war," he said. "The Republic of Korea will overcome this crisis wisely by coming together as one."
