'논의[논쟁]하다' (argue, dispute, debate, discuss 차이점)
argue : (speak angrily to each other about something that they disagree about) 의견의 불일치로 언쟁하다 (예) [자동사][V] argue (with sb) (about/over sth) 언쟁을 하다, 다투다 My brothers are always arguing. 우리 집 형제들은 늘 다퉈. 이유/증거를 들어 주장이나 명제 등을 지지하거나 반박하다 argue (for/against sth) | ~ (for/against doing sth) (논거를 들어) 주장하다, 논증하다 (예) He argued for a different policy.
dispute: A dispute is an argument or disagreement between people or groups 의견 충돌로 인해 종종 감정적이 되어 격렬한 언쟁(argument)을 하다 They were disputing whether to lend him the money or not.
debate: A debate is a discussion about a subject on which people have different views (특히 격식을 갖춰) 논의[토의/논쟁]하다 대개 공공의 문제에 대해 찬반 양파로 갈려서 정식으로 토론하다 The people of the town debated whether to build a new road.
discuss: If people discuss something, they talk about it, often in order to reach a decision. If you discuss something, you write or talk about it in detail. 문제 해결 등을 위해 여러 가지 의견을 신중히 건설적인 방법으로 검토하고 우호적인 분위기 속에서 논의하다 We discussed what to do and where we should go.
