※ Bible: Judges 7:1-14.
※ Title: Have room for all things.
I bless you in the name of the Lord that God will give grace and blessings to you who came to church. The more I think about it, the more I thank you and thank God. Thank you so much that I can't sleep. So whenever I have time, I pray by calling your name. God! Lord! Please remember these people! And bless me! I pray that God, who is alive, will accompany them!
A few days ago, I was praying, but I was in a hurry. This is because the remaining time is not easy for me. There are only 14 months left until the end of the day. Of course, I believe that God has prepared a better and much better pastor. Still, I couldn't help being impatient, so I prayed, but then the Lord came to my heart and told me to relax in everything.
So, I decided to take the title of today's speech to have some time to spare in everything. Therefore, I hope that the Holy Spirit will touch us and meet us today. That's right. I believe that the saints are the saints who live by the grace of God. What would we do? God may have to help. Therefore, Paul said Philipians 4:6 (Php 4:6) do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
That's what he said.
That's right ● It's Western Churchill who changed the history of England. When Western Churchill ran for Senate for the first time, everyone expected to win. But the result was the opposite. I was badly defeated. The situation was hurt by pride and upset, so I was in a hurry. I also avoided meeting people. He became a depressed patient.
Then one day, I looked at the sky from the window and saw the sleek hands of a brick worker stacking bricks. The brickworker stacked a brick and applied concrete on it. I wasn't doing that process once, but I was repeating it over and over again. After a long time, a solid and huge wall was completed.
I saw that from the beginning to the end. And I made a resolution in my heart. I see! Life is all about stacking bricks one by one! Okay! I'm doing it again from now on. Churchill said he learned life by watching the brickworker that day. That's right. If you stay calm, you can see the way.
But when you're impatient, you forget what you knew. Therefore, I, like you, calmly, firmly, and faith our church. I wish I could build it with faith. I believe that God will help me. Now, I'm going to listen to the voice of the Lord while reading God's words to us today. And I try to lower my strength.
● Verse 1-2.
(Jdg 7:1) Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
(Jdg 7:2) The LORD said to Gideon, "The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.'
That's what they say.
That's right. If you look at Chapter 6 of Sasagi, Israel will face a crisis. Midian, Amalek, and the Eastern people joined forces to form a large army of 135,000 people (8:10-11). From what Israel saw, the number was so large that it looked like a flock of locusts. It was so scary. So Israel cried out.
That's right. God's people are those who leave everything to God and pray when they encounter a crisis. Because God has a way. Because God has a way. Even if all people die, I believe God has a way to save them.
Therefore, Israel met a crisis and prayed. It's a very good thing. It's hard to do better than this. If you decide to pray, it's a great decision. When Israel prayed, God listened to Israel's prayers and built Gideon as Israel's leader and Israel's general. That's right.
Most of the problems lie with the leader. One leader often decides the rise and fall of the country. So I don't take a day off praying about the president and the president. Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord to become a person who prays if you think you are in crisis now.
Gideon, who was built by God, recruits troops. 32,000 people have been recruited. By the way, the Midian Allied Forces are 135,000 people. That's also a trained army. On the contrary, Israel is a disorder that is urgently prepared. Arithmetically, it's 135,000 to 32,000. It's 4 to 1 or 5 to 1. The result is obvious.
This is what Confucius' disciple, Mencius, called a heavy talisman amulet. In other words, you can't win a large number of wars with a small number. In the world, that word is the truth. But God said in the second verse of the text,
(Jdg 7:2) The LORD said to Gideon, "The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.'
That's what they say. They say 32,000 is too much.
Then, what should we do?
● That's 3-4 verses.
(Jdg 7:3) Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, 'Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home and hurry away from Mount Gilead.'" Then 22,000 of the people returned, and 10,000 remained.
(Jdg 7:4) And the LORD said to Gideon, "The people are still too many.
Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there, and anyone of whom I say to you, 'This one shall go with you,' shall go with you, and anyone of whom I say to you, 'This one shall not go with you,' shall not go."
That's what he says.
Anyone who is afraid should go back. What kind of test is this? What do you mean? They all exist, so even if they attack, they're going to die. Who do you want me to send back? If it were me, I wouldn't be able to. I don't even like a leader. God does everything. I would've done it. But Gideon didn't do that. Gideon is obedient. This is the power of Gideon.
That's right. The power of the saints lies in obedience. Therefore, the saints must pray. If you get a response while praying, please help me obediently regardless of whether it is good or bad. I believe that obedient people win in spiritual wars. However, not everyone can be obedient. The person who is gracious can obey. Blessed people can do it.
Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord to be blessed. With tears in his eyes, Gideon closes his eyes and shouts with all his might as God said. Those who tremble with fear told them to go home. As if you had waited, 22,000 people left and 10,000 people were left.
But God was not satisfied with that. There are still a lot, so they tell you to go down to the water and test you there. This time again, Gideon is obedient. That's right. Who can't obey once? It's reasonable, but who can't obey? I believe that obedience is obedience and faith, even if obedience is different from what I think or does not fit my calculation.
That's why Gideon's faith is great, and Daniel and three friends, Sadrak, Mesak, and Abetego's faith is great. If you look at Daniel 3:16-18,
(Dn 3:16) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
(Dn 3:17) If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
(Dn 3:18) But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up."
It's a bold shout without hesitation. I believe this is the power of faith.
● That's verse 5-6.
(Jdg 7:5) So he brought the people down to the water. And the LORD said to Gideon, "Every one who laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set by himself. Likewise, every one who kneels d
(Jdg 7:6) And the number of those who lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was 300 men, but all the rest of the people knelt down to drink water.
That's what he says.
God takes them to the water and watches them drink water. What kind of test is this? Some people licked it like dogs, some people licked it with their hands, and others licked it on their knees. How do you mean by how you eat it?
But we need to know. God has a separate eye for seeing. Adults have a separate eye. The pastor has a separate eye.
That's right. God had a separate eye, so there were seven older brothers above David, but David, the eighth son of Yi Sae, was the king. In our view, no matter how you drink water, that would be it. However, God chose only 300 people who licked water. And send the rest back.
● 7-8 verses.
(Jdg 7:7) And the LORD said to Gideon, "With the 300 men who lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand, and let all the others go every man to his home."
(Jdg 7:8) So the people took provisions in their hands, and their trumpets. And he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the 300 men. And the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.
That's what he says.
That's right. Who do you choose? How many did you choose? Sovereignty belongs to God. Looking back on the 70 years I've lived. Faith is not what I want anyway. It is as the Lord wishes of the Lord. It was my dream and wish to build a chapel when I came as a pastor in charge of our church. But it's just my dream and wish. God did not allow it. You did something else through me.
There are 135,000 enemies, and out of 32,000 troops recruited by Gideon, 31,700 will be returned and the war will be fought with 300. If interpreted in our way, it is no different from saying that you should die. But that's not the case. I believe that God's method is the way to live.
If you read the ● Bible, it says to give God a tenth of your income. Let's say I have the money. No one will feel burdened by depositing it in a bank. Because? If you deposit it in the bank, you can find it at the bank whenever you need it, so I believe that the money is my money.
If there is a belief that God clearly gives me material after I give it to him because everything I give is God's, he believes that it will be wasteful or burdensome to give it to him. However, if you think that you are losing my money to God, it will be very difficult and stingy to give you the annual report.
Gideon sends all of them back and prepares for war with 300 people. He is obedient because he believes in God.
● 9-12 verses.
(Jdg 7:9) That same night the LORD said to him, "Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hand.
(Jdg 7:10) But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant.
(Jdg 7:11) And you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp." Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outposts of the armed men who were in the camp.
(Jdg 7:12) And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts in abundance, and their camels were without number, as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance.
That's what he says.
As God said, Gideon goes down to the Midian camp. As expected, you're obedient. He takes his subordinate, Buraman, and goes down to the enemy camp. I'm obedient again this time. Looking down, the number of enemies was as large as a herd of locusts. I couldn't even dare to do it with 300 people. And then, it's real thing.
● I'll read the 13th verse.
(Jdg 7:13) When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said, "Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it
That's what he says.
It's a story they're talking about. Strangely, I wasn't afraid when I heard the story of the enemy's dream. Power is starting to spring up. I gain confidence. That's right. God's words have spiritual power. Some people come to church and sit down and sing hymns, and they start to feel convinced of heaven.
I thought I would go to heaven even if I die now. Your body becomes relaxed. God's power seems to flow into the blood vessels. Your whole body feels cool. I wanted to stand up. He woke up without realizing it. That day, Giddy On said that. When Gideon reaches the tent, he tells the story of wandering in the enemy camp.
It's that he had a dream. I had a dream, and in my dream, a chunk of barley cake rolled into their camp. Then, when they hit their camp, their camp collapsed without strength. They were already discouraged by their conversation. It's even more amazing after that.
● 14 verses.
(Jdg 7:14) And his comrade answered, "This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp."
When he heard the explanation, Gideon gained strength.
That's right. I believe that war is in God. So if you look at 2Chronicles 20:15-17,
(2Ch 20:15) And he said, "Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, 'Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not y
(2Ch 20:16) Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel.
(2Ch 20:17) You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out again
Go ahead.
That's right. Who are we? He is a partner of God mobilized in the spiritual war. We have a power other than us. It's the power of God. It's the history of the Holy Spirit. Martin Luther, a Reformationer who wrote the lyrics of the song in Chapter 585 chapter, praises this way.
1. A might-y For-tress is our God, A Bul-wark nev-er fail - ing;
Our Help-er He a-mid the flood Of mor-tal ills pre-vail - ing.
For still our an-cient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and pow'r are great;
And, armed with cru-el hate, On earth is not His e - qual.
Hallelujah! That's right. The saints are also in trouble. But the saints have faith. I believe that the Lord will be shielded and weaponized to save us and give us.
2. Did we in our own strength con-fide, Our striv-ing would be los - ing;
Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God's own choos - ing.
Hallelujah! That's right. Those who believe in Jesus live with the power of God. I believe that the power of Satan is the power of our power alone that cannot alone. So we pray. If we pray,
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Je-sus, it is He, Lord Sab-a-oth His Name,
From age to age the same, And He must win the bat - tle.
I really like this hymn. I was so happy while preparing for today's talk.
3. And though this world, with dev-ils filled, Should threat-en to un-do us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to tri-umph through us.
The prince of dark-ness fri, We trem-ble not for him; His rage we can en-dure,
For lo! His doom is sure; One lit-tle word shall fell him. A-men.
That's right. The Lord tells us to have some freedom in everything today. And they tell me to be calm. And they say not to be impatient. And he tells me to believe in God. It's the word of God. Aman!
