"Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid"
모든 사람은 천재이지만, 물고기가 나무에 오를 수 있는 능력으로 판단하면, 물고기는 평생 동안 어리석다고 믿고 살게 될 것입니다
The above quote is often attributed to Albert Einstein. The quote is said to mean that everyone has a special ability in one thing, which may be difficult for others.
However, the exact origin of the quote is unclear. There are similar fables about animals in schools in various journals and newspapers dating back to the 1800s.
Einstein also wrote in his book Ideas and Opinions, "There are only a few enlightened people with a lucid mind and style and with good taste within a century". This casts doubt on the idea that he would say everybody is a genius.
