物慾(물욕)이 靈(영)을 가로 막으면 靈(영)이 통하는 구멍이 막혀 버린다.
  When material desires block the spirit,
  the passages through which the spirit communicates become obstructed.

구규(눈,코,입,귀,대소변의 총 아홉구멍)가 모두 막혀 버리면
곧 새와 짐승과 다를 바 없게 되어 단지 먹이를 빼앗는
  If the nine origices(the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and urethra / anus) all become blocked,
  humans become no different from birds and beasts.

욕심만이 있을 뿐이니 염치와 두려움은 없게 되는 것이다.
  Driven solely by the greed to snatch away prey,
  they are left with neither a sense of shame nor fear.

物慾이 蔽靈이면 竅塞하나니 (물욕이 폐령이면 규색하나니)
  When material desires blind the spirit, the sensory orifices become obstructed. 


九竅盡塞이면 與禽獸相似하여 (구규진색이면 여금수상사하여)
  If all nine orificees are completely blocked, one becomes just like the birds and beasts.


只有食奪 之慾而已요 (지유식탈 지욕이이요)
  They are driven by nothing more than the desire to feed and plunder,


未有廉耻及畏㤼이니라. (미유렴치급외겁이니라.)
 and are left entirely without a sense of shame or fear.


  [Explanation, 풀이]


인간에게 九竅(구규)가 막힌다는것은 곧 惡鬼(악귀)가 되는 것이다.
  For a human, the blocking of the nine orifices means,
  in essence, becoming an evil spirit. 

이는짐승만도 못한 처지에 이르는 것이다.
  This representa falling iinto a state that is even worse than that of beasts.

남의 것을 탐내 빼앗는 다는 것은 곧 惡鬼(악귀)가 되는 것이다.
  Coveting and stealing what belongs to others is, in itsself,
   nothing less than becoming an evil spirit.


 ※ Key vocabulary.
   * 物慾(물욕) : Material desires / Worldly desires.
   * 靈(영) : Spirit / Soul.
   * 가로막다 / 막히다 : Block / Obstruct / Clod.
   * 九竅(구규) : The nine orifices of the human body(눈, 코, 입, 귀 등 인체의 9개 구멍).

   * ~은 곧 ~이 되는 것이다 : Is, in essence, nothing less than ~/ Is tantamount to becoming ~.

   ※ Key Structural Notes.
     * 蔽靈(폐령) : "Blinding / covering the spirit."
                       (탐욕이 영혼이나 본래의 맑은 지각을 덮어버림을 뜻합니다).
     * 竅塞(규색) / 九竅盡塞(구규진색) : "Passages are blocked / All nine orifices are completely
                 obsstructed."(사물을 올바르게 보고, 듣고, 판단하는 능력이 완전히 마비된 상태를 비유함).
     * 與禽獸相似(여금수상사) : "Simto birds and beaste."
                                        (도덕성을 상실하여 짐승과 다를 바 없게 되었다는 강력한 경고입니다).
     * 食奪之慾(식탈지욕) : "The desire to eat and snatch away."
                                  (오직 생존 본능과 탐ㅁ욕에만 지배당하는 맹목적인 상태를 말합니다).
     * 廉耻及畏㤼(염치급외겁) : "Shame and fear / trepidation."
                 (인간으로서 마땅히 가져야 할 부끄러움(도덕성)과 하늘이나 법을 두려워할 줄 아는
                   마음을 의미합니다).
