미국과 이란이 2주간의 휴전과 호르무즈 개방에 사실상 합의했다. 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 2주간 휴전과 호르무즈 개방을 조건으로 이란에 대한 공격 중단을 선언한 데 이어, 이란도 트럼프 대통령이 발표한 대로 양국이 2주간 휴전에 동의했다고 확인했다.

7일 누르뉴스 등 이란 현지 언론에 따르면, 이란 최고국가안보회의는 이날 성명에서 미국이 이란이 제시한 10개항 종전안을 전부 수용했다고 밝혔다.

국가안보회의는 “이란은 거대한 승리를 거뒀고 미국으로 하여금 이란의 10개항 제안을 수용하도록 만들었다”며 “그 제안에서 미국은 비침략 보장, 호르무즈 해협에 대한 이란의 통제 지속, 농축 활동 인정, 모든 1차·2차 제재 해제, 유엔 안전보장이사회 및 국제원자력기구(IAEA) 이사회 관련 모든 결의 종료, 이란에 대한 배상, 중동 지역에서의 미군 전투병력 철수, 그리고 모든 전선에서의 전쟁 중단에 동의했다”고 했다.

국가안보회의는 현재 최고지도자인 모즈타바 하메네이가 ‘승리’의 세부 사항을 최종 확정하기 위한 협상을 오는 10일 파키스탄 수도 이슬라마바드에서 진행하기로 결정했다고도 밝혔다. 그러면서 “최대 15일 안에 전장에서의 이란의 승리가 정치 협상에서도 확정되도록 하겠다는 것”이라고 했다.

아울러 “이란은 오직 10개항 제안에 담긴 자국의 원칙이 수용된 것을 바탕으로, 그 세부 사항까지 협상에서 최종 확정될 때에만 전쟁 종식을 받아들일 것”이라고 했다. 또 “이란은 이를 위해 2주의 시간을 배정할 것”이라며 “이 기간은 양측 합의로 연장될 수 있다”고 했다.

국가안보회의는 “현재의 협상은 국가적 협상이자 전장의 연장선”이라며 “이 과정에 신뢰를 보내고 이를 지지해야 하며, 어떤 분열적 발언도 강하게 삼가야 한다”고 했다. 끝으로 “우리의 손은 방아쇠 위에 놓여 있으며, 적이 아주 작은 실수라도 저지르는 즉시 전력을 다해 대응할 것”이라고 했다.

압바스 아락치 이란 외무장관은 이란에 대한 공격이 중단되면 이란도 공격을 중단할 것이며, 이란군과의 조율을 통해 2주간 호르무즈 해협의 안전한 통행이 가능할 것이라고 밝혔다.
