As we enter Romans 6
With each chapter of the bible, we need to understand the connections between chapters.
The fact that we received the bible is a great treat from God.
You all know how happy you are when we go to school and receive textbooks, right?
Where is a book as valuable as this one?
Even though God gave us this book and allowed all the blessings in it to be fulfilled, there is a problem if there is no joy even after receiving the Bible.
Now that we have received this precious bible, make a decision that we must learn the bible, according to the measure of our faith, according to the spirit of revelation given by the Lord, rather than conquering the bible with our own knowledge.
The Bible is not a book written to be understood according to the level of knowledge.
It is written so that you can see it according to the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
So what happened to this chapter?
When you move on to the next chapter, you will know more about the bible if you pay attention to how it is connected and ask questions.
Chapter 5 Be conscious of Adam and Christ alone.
You just need to remember what happened between the two representatives, Adam and Christ.
Chapter 6 is the relationship between me and Christ.
Faith is more about what kind of relationship and contact point I have with God than believing well or being zealous.
Faith depend on what kind of relationship and contact point I have with God rather than believing well or being zealous.
What I would like to say with special emphasis is that the faith of the natural god is only a faith that always stays, such as solving one's immediate problems or receiving comfort from suffering.
There are many such believers.
Therefore, since the saints cannot receive directly the comfort of the Holy Spirit through the grace of God because they do not know the word of truth, the pastor usually comforts them instead.
Some even say that they are ambassadors of God's plenipotentiary...
The children of God, who should directly receive God's comfort, receive human comfort instead.
But let's be clear: the only one who can comfort us is the Holy Spirit.
There is no comfort in the world as sure as his comfort.
For this reason, in verses 3-4, to explain the relationship with Christ, the issue of participating in the Lord's death "baptized into his death'" comes to the fore.
Without this mystery of participation in Christ's death and resurrection, there is no reason to claim that christianity is superior to other religions.
That is why Paul declared that he would preach nothing but the cross of Christ.
How can human beings who came into this world carrying their sins get rid of their sins and wrong past?
Human beings only have one piece of drawing paper called life, but after receiving that piece of drawing paper, it has become a mess with all sorts of graffiti throughout my life. How can I rewrite new this?
We are already sinners and have a cursed destiny, but in addition, how many dirty things are contained in 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 years of life. How do we renew this?
Which religion? With what goodness? With what generosity? with what ethics? with what morality? There's no way to do that.
"Being united to the Lord’s death and resurrection, and being buried with the Lord’s death, the old self has gone, and now united to His life, we are a new creation.”
If you don't understand this, even if you are baptized, it's useless.
It means that through the grace of redemption on the cross of Jesus Christ, I, who was in Adam, and I, who have lived until now, have been born again as clean vessels through the cross.
And that vessel now contains Christ. Hallelujah!
If you approach the Lord with faith believing in that condition and long for the Lord and wait for Him, the Holy Spirit will be present. (see Acts 2:38)
Believe that precious the Spirit of the Lord and the life, the image, and the glory of God are contained in the place where you meditate on the grace of the Lord's redemption, which always purifies you.
Verse 5 speaks of resurrection, and resurrection does not mean that I am alive again, but that the master who control me has changed.
It means that I do not belong to Adam, but to Christ.
It means that Christ, who is resurrection and life, reins me.
Verse 10 says that he died to sin once, which means that sin that dominates me is dead.
If I die to the sin that reins me, then the master has changed for me, and the new master is Christ.
The resurrection of the dead has that meaning.
The fact that Jesus Christ died and rose again is shocking news, but more importantly, with His death, my old self has completely ended.
That is why I have been set free from the sin and death that reined me, completely freed from the old master, and now I accept the fact that Christ, the new master, reins me.
It is to receive the Lord.
If you look at verse 11, baptized into his death, “to be alive unto God.”
Think of it as such.
'Now we belive that we are dead to sin and alive to God'. You don't have to. Count what has happened.
It means to take it as a fact that what you rein to be has completely changed.
It means to take it as a fact that your master has completely changed.
The first half of chapter 6, verses 1-11, is the relationship between me and Christ.
From verse 12, it is about 'How will such a person live?'
Those who have been united with Christ have now become active beings who can choose certain things for themselves.
Through Christ...
Before that, we were bound and lived as slaves.
We lived a life bound by sin and greed.
We groaned as we received death as us wages.
Satan's major is to deceive.
Satan specializes in lying and deceiving.
He said, 'If you eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God.', far from being the same, only shame and fear came to light.
And then Satan disappears.
Satan causes people to sin and then makes them feel guilty.
This is what Satan always does.
This is the misfortune of all unsaved human beings.
Caught by Satan's lies, we live our life suffering in fear.
It is not me who is deceived by Satan, but it is because of the sin within me.
But the consequences of sin are all I have to bear.
Therefore, it is salvation to put an end to this fate through the merits of the Lord's atonement, who paid the price for our sins on our behalf.
In verse 12 and below, give yourself to God.
If our will given to God does not follow the Lord, baptism and resurrection are broken.
I have faith, I have become righteous, I have become a child of God, and if my members do not listen to the command of the general headquarters, baptism and resurrection are out of order.
What we need to check every day is to check the function of baptism and communion.
Because Satan resurrects the old man.
Satan continues to break baptism and resurrection.
Whenever I think about the meaning of baptism and communion with Christ, the after-sales service strike force of salvation is always ready and running.
Speaking of the tabernacle of the old testament, an unsightly tree like the shittah tree was covered with brass or gold and used as a tool for the tabernacle.
However, when the brass or gold is removed, the original appearance is revealed.
This is explained in the old testament, but in the new testament, Christians who are supposed to live by the Holy Spirit in God's grace, after the oil of the Holy Spirit is consumed, Satan pushes their old self to the front.
Satan lifts up our flesh. Then we stumble again.
If my will doesn't listen to the general headquarters, I will end up becoming a plaything for Satan.
Then, we must quickly check our baptism and communion with Christ before the Lord and God.
So, in the normal life of Christ, the key phrase is “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
He is the Lord who gave himself to us by giving himself up and clearing up our sins and our old self.
You should always check these words.
When my will not follow the Lord, I must quickly check baptism and resurrection and establish clear a relationship between me and Christ.
Because this part is not clear, your will not give the Lord.
So it doesn't bear fruit.
Our intellect, emotion, and will must be fully devoted to God, and we will receive spirit and life of the Lord by loving and longing for the Lord and bear fruit.
