2026.8.28(금) 오늘의 말씀카드, 365묵상글

1. 묵상칼럼 : 기도는 하나님을 알아가는 시간입니다

“오라 우리가 굽혀 경배하며 우리를 지으신 여호와 앞에 무릎을 꿇자.”
— 시편 95편 6절

우리는 흔히 기도를 무엇인가를 얻기 위한 수단으로 생각합니다. 건강을 달라고 기도하고, 필요한 것을 달라고 기도하며, 어려운 문제를 해결해 달라고 하나님께 간구합니다. 물론 하나님께 우리의 필요를 아뢰는 것은 성경적인 기도입니다. 예수님께서도 우리에게 필요한 것을 하나님께 구하라고 가르치셨습니다.

그러나 기도의 본질은 단순히 하나님의 손에서 무엇인가를 얻어내는 것에 있지 않습니다. 기도의 더 깊은 목적은 기도를 통해 하나님을 알아가는 것입니다.

시편 기자는 “오라 우리가 굽혀 경배하며 우리를 지으신 여호와 앞에 무릎을 꿇자”고 권면합니다. 기도는 먼저 나의 필요를 하나님께 내어놓는 행위이기 전에, 나를 지으신 하나님 앞에 무릎을 꿇는 것입니다. 내가 중심이 되는 것이 아니라 하나님을 중심에 모시는 것입니다.

누가복음 11장 1절을 보면 제자들은 예수님께서 기도하시고 마치시는 모습을 본 후 이렇게 요청합니다.

“주여 요한이 자기 제자들에게 기도를 가르친 것과 같이 우리에게도 가르쳐 주옵소서.”

   제자들이 예수님의 기도를 보면서 기도를 배우고 싶어 했다는 사실이 참 중요합니다. 예수님의 기도에는 그들이 알지 못했던 하나님과의 깊은 관계가 있었기 때문입니다. 기도는 단순히 말을 많이 하는 것이 아니라 하나님과의 관계 속으로 들어가는 것입니다.

기도하다 보면 우리의 마음도 변합니다. 처음에는 “하나님, 이것을 주세요”라고 기도했지만, 어느 순간 “하나님, 제가 무엇을 원하시는지 알게 해주세요”라고 기도하게 됩니다. 처음에는 내 문제를 해결해 달라고 하나님을 찾았지만, 점점 문제보다 크신 하나님을 바라보게 됩니다.

  그래서 기도의 깊이는 응답받은 기도의 숫자로만 측정할 수 없습니다. 기도하면서 하나님을 더 알게 되고, 하나님의 뜻을 더 신뢰하게 되고, 내 뜻을 내려놓고 하나님의 뜻에 순종하게 된다면 우리는 이미 기도 가운데 놀라운 은혜를 경험하고 있는 것입니다.

  오늘도 하나님께 많은 것을 구하기 전에 먼저 하나님 앞에 무릎을 꿇어 보십시오.

“주님, 무엇을 주실 것인가보다 주님이 어떤 분이신지를 더 알게 하소서.
내 뜻을 이루기보다 하나님의 뜻을 알게 하시고,
내 문제를 해결하는 것보다 하나님을 더욱 깊이 신뢰하게 하소서.”

  기도는 하나님을 움직이는 시간이 아니라 기도하는 내가 하나님을 알아가고 변화되는 시간입니다.

오늘도 기도를 통해 하나님을 더 깊이 알아가십시오. 그리고 그 하나님 앞에 겸손히 무릎을 꿇으십시오.

기도의 목적은 하나님의 손을 얻는 것이 아니라 하나님의 얼굴을 구하는 것입니다.

2. 묵상칼럼(영어버전) : Prayer Is a Time to Know God More Deeply

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.”
— Psalm 95:6

  We often think of prayer as a means of receiving something from God. We pray for healing, for our needs, and for God to solve the difficult problems in our lives. Certainly, bringing our needs before God is a biblical part of prayer. Jesus Himself taught His disciples to ask God for what they need.

  But the deeper purpose of prayer is not simply to receive something from God's hand. The greater purpose of prayer is to know God more deeply through prayer.

  The psalmist says, “Come, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.” Prayer begins not with presenting our needs, but with kneeling before the God who created us. It is the moment when we stop putting ourselves at the center and place God at the center.

Luke 11:1 tells us that after seeing Jesus praying, one of His disciples said,

“Lord, teach us to pray.”

  The disciples saw something in Jesus' prayer that they wanted to learn. His prayer revealed a deep relationship with God. Prayer is not simply about saying many words. It is entering into a deeper relationship with God.

  As we pray, our hearts begin to change. At first we may pray, “Lord, please give me this.” But eventually our prayer becomes, “Lord, help me understand what You want.” At first we may seek God because we want Him to solve our problems. But gradually, we begin to look beyond our problems and see the God who is greater than them.

   Therefore, the depth of our prayer cannot be measured simply by how many prayers have been answered. If, through prayer, we come to know God more deeply, trust His will more completely, surrender our own desires, and become willing to obey Him, then we are already experiencing God's grace through prayer.

Today, before asking God for many things, simply kneel before Him.

“Lord, help me know who You are more than what You can give me.
Help me understand Your will rather than simply accomplish my own.
And more than asking You to solve my problems,
help me trust You more deeply.”

Prayer is not primarily a time when we move God according to our desires. It is a time when we come to know God and are transformed by Him.

Today, may you know God more deeply through prayer. And may you humbly kneel before Him.

The purpose of prayer is not merely to seek God's hand, but to seek God's face.
