�� 참된 인생의 삶이 되려면(To be a true life) ��

오는 손을 부끄럽게 하지 말고 가는 발 길을 욕(辱, cursing:남 의 인격을 무시 하는 모욕적인  말.) 되게 하지 말라.(Don't shame your approaching hands, and don't insult your way.) 모른다고 해서 기죽지 말고 안다고 해서 거만 떨지 말라. (Don't be discouraged just because you don't know, and don't be arrogant just because you know.) 자랑거리 없다하여 주눅 들지 말고 자랑 거리 있다하여 가벼이 들추지 말라.(Don't be discouraged just because you don't have anything to be proud ofDon't make light of it by.) 좋다고 해서 금방 달려들지 말고 싫다고 해서 금방 달아나지 말라.(Don't rush in immediately just because you like it and don't run away quickly just because you don't like it.) 멀리 있다 해서 잊어버리지 말고 가까이 있다 해서 소홀(疏忽, negligent)하지 말라.(Don't forget just because you're far away, and don't neglect just because you're close.) 악(惡, Evil)을 보거든 뱀을 본 듯 피하고 선(善, good)을 보거든 꽃을 본 듯 반겨라.(If you see evil, avoid snakes as if you saw good, and welcome as if you saw flowers.) 부자(富者, rich person)는 빈자(貧者, a poor man)를 얕잡아 보지 말고 빈자는 부자를 아니꼽게 생각하지 말라.(The rich should not look down on the poor, and the poor should not look down on the rich.) 은혜(恩惠, grace)를 베풀거든 보답을 바라지 말고 은혜(恩惠, beneficio)를 받았거든 작게라도 보답을 하라.(If you do a favor, don't expect a reward, but if you have received a favor, give it even a small reward.) 타인의 것을 받을 때 앞에 서지 말고 내 것을 줄 때 뒤에 서지 말라.(Do not stand in front of others when you receive them; do not stand behind when you give them mine.) 타인의 허물은 덮어서 다독거리고 내 허물은 들춰서 다듬고 고쳐라.(Cover up the faults of others and heal them; expose my faults, refine them, and fix them.) 사소(些少, trivial:적거나 작아서  보잘 것 없거나 중요하지 않다.) 한 일로 해서 원수 맺지 말고 이미 맺었거든 맺은 자가 먼저 풀라.(Don't make enemies over trifles[small or small: insignificant or insignificant.], but release them first because they have already been made.) 모르는 사람을 이용하지 말고 아는 사람 에게 아부(阿附, flattery)하지 말라.(Don't use strangers and don't flatter acquaintances.) 공적인 일에서 나를 생각지 말고 사적인 일에서는 감투(a government post)를 생각하지 말라.(Don't think of me in public affairs, don't think of me in private affairs.) 공짜는 주지도 받지도 말고 노력 없는 대가는 바라지 말라.(Don't get free, don't get free, and don't expect a price without effort.) 세상에 태어났음을 원망(怨望, resent) 말고 세상을 헛되게 살았음을 한탄(恨歎, lamentation)하라.(Do not resent being born into the world, but lament that you have lived in vain.) 죽어서 천당 갈 생각을 하지 말고 살아서 원한 사지 말고, 죄짓지 말라.(Don't think of going to heaven after you die, don't live and buy what you want, and don') 타인들의 인생 좇아 헐떡이며 살지 말고 내 인생을 분수 지켜 여유 있게 살라.(Don't live in panting after other people's lives, but live your life in a relaxed manner.) 나를 용서(容恕, pardoning)하 는 마음으로 타인을 용서 하고 나를 다독거리는 마음으로 타인을 다독거려라.(Forgive others and carry them with a heart of forgiveness Encourage others with a spiteful mind.) 보내는 사람에게 야박(野薄, coldheartedness)하게 하지 말고 떠나는 사람에게 뒤끝을 흐리지 말라.(Don't be cruel to the sender, and don't be cruel to the one who leaves.)   = 華谷·孝菴公認大法師(佛學硏究員)의 좋은글 중에서 =
