Wedding Anniversary

Talk about wedding anniversaries.

Today is our wedding anniverasary.

It has been 12 years since we exchanged vows.

When we were going out, everything was

peachy as long as my wife was around.

To be honest, I don't feel the same way now.

To rekindle the spark of dating, we prepare

a small, special event on our anniversary.

Last year, for our 11th anniversary, I prepared

stick-shaped biscuits that look like the number 11

as a gift for my wife.

I also penned a poem in which I compared our

11 years of married life to chopsticks, which also

look like that number.

My wife seemed to be taken with the poem.

She said it was well-written, and she was very pleased.

I am thankful to my wife, who has spent so much time

with me.

I look up to her.

I hope we will be happy together for years to come.

결혼기념일에 대해서 이야기해 주세요.

오늘은 저희 부부 결혼기념일입니다.

결혼한 지는 12년이 되었습니다.

연애할 때는 아내만 옆에 있으면 뭐든 좋았습니다.

솔직히 지금 마음이 그때 같지는 않습니다.

연애할 때는 설레는 감정을 다시 떠올리고자

결혼기념일에는 작고 특별한 이벤트를 준비합니다.

작년에 결혼 11주년이 되었을 때, 숫자 11처럼 생긴

막대 모양 과자를 아내에게 줄 선물로 준비했습니다.

그리고 11년 결혼 생활을 11과 비슷하게 생긴

젓가락에 비유해서 시를 썼습니다.

아내는 시가 마음에 들었는지 잘 썼다고 했고 몹시

흡족해했습니다.

저와 오랜 시간을 같이해 준 아내가 고맙고

존경스럽습니다.

앞으로도 오랫동안 함께 행복하고 싶습니다.

결혼기념일에 대해서 이야기해 주세요.

연애 때는 아내가 옆에만 있어도 좋았습니다. 

솔직히 지금은 마음이 그 때 같지는 않습니다.

- When we were dating, everything was peachy 

  as long as my wife was around. 

  Frankly speaking, I don't feel the same way now.

+ be going out : 연애중이다

+ peachy : 아주 좋은, 만족스러운,아주 멋진/복숭아같은

+ as long as 주어 동사 : ~하기만 한다면

+ be around : 옆에 있다, 주변에 있다

+ frankly speaking : 솔직히 말하면

                           (=to be honest, to be frank)​

연애할 때의 설레는 감정을 떠올리고자 결혼기념일마다 

작고 특별한 이벤트를 준비합니다. 

우리 결혼이 11주년이 되었을 때, 11년 결혼생활을 11과 

비슷하게 생긴 젓가락에 비유해서 시를 썼습니다.

- To rekindle the spark of going out, we preprare 

   a small, special event on our anniversaries. 

   For our 11th anniversary, I penned a poem 

   where I compared our 11 years of married life
