0212 Tune Out the Noise | 1 Timothy 2:1–2 | Pastor Jim Cymbala

Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from 1 Timothy 2:1–2.

It’s hard to hear Jesus /if our lives are full of worldly noise.

As Christians, we are called to live godly and peaceful lives.

How are others supposed to see our godliness /if we’re overwhelmed /by the same things () they are?

Let’s live for Jesus today and be lights in the dark world.

* Tune Out ; stop listening or paying attention to something. 듣기/주목하기를 멈추다

* 가주어 It = 진주어인 부정사구  to hear Jesus 

* 부사절 /if our lives are full of worldly noise. 

* 5 형식 능동문 God called [us] [to live godly and peaceful lives]. 목적이 목보하게 동사하다

* 보어인 형역 과분사구 supposed to see our godliness /if we’re overwhelmed /by the same things (that) they are 

* 형역 과분사 supposed / adjective ; generally assumed or believed to be the case, but not necessarily so. 추정된

   1.  required by or as if by authority 하기로 된  are supposed to obey

   2. to be intended to, made or fashioned by intent or design 의도된 3. held as an opinion ; supposed terror 의견인

* 주의 1. supposed를 수동태 과분사로 볼 수도 있지만 추정하게 만든 동작자가 없기에 '추정된' 상태설명의 형용사가 됨

           2. are supposed to~ 를 동사구/숙어로 하면 'to have to~ 하기로된'이 되므로 to 부정사가 본동사가 됨 

* 수동태 be+pp ; are overwhelmed (전치사 by+동작자가 있으므로 수동태 동사로 '압도당하다'는 의미로 됨)

* 주의 ; 과분사가 수동동작을 의미하는 수동태 동사인지 수동상태 형용사인지는 동작자의 존재 여부에 따라 구별됨

* 전목인 명사구 the same things (that) they are 

* 사역동사 5 형식 Let [us] [live for Jesus today and be lights in the dark world]. (목보는 원형 부정사구)

 * 주의 lets vs let’s ;  lets는 삼인칭/단수/현제에 쓰인 동사+s ; she lets him try,  let’s는 let us의 준말임 ; let’s do it.
