(서울=연합뉴스) 황윤기 기자 = 이재명 대통령은 1일 최근 보이스피싱 피해가 감소했다는 보도를 언급하면서 "단기간에 국민의 피해가 줄어 참으로 다행"이라며 공직자들을 격려했다.

이 대통령은 이날 엑스(X·옛 트위터)에 올해 1∼3월 보이스피싱 피해가 작년 대비 45% 감소했으며 그 원인은 '윗선 중심 검거' 성과에 있다는 언론 기사를 소개하며 이같이 썼다.

이 대통령은 "모두 경찰, 국가정보원, 외교부 등 일선 공직자들의 헌신 덕분이다. 수고 많으셨다. 감사하다"고 했다.

이어 "피해가 0이 될 때까지 좀 더 노력해야겠다"며 "우리 공직자들이 꼭 그렇게 할 것이니 많이 격려해달라"고 덧붙였다.

앞서 이 대통령은 지난 3월 참모들과의 회의에서 보이스피싱 범죄를 '7대 비정상' 중 하나로 규정하고 범죄를 근절할 대책을 빠르게 실행하라고 지시한 바 있다.

SEOUL, May 1 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung on Friday praised law enforcement authorities for their recent success in cracking down on phone scam cases.

In a post on his official X account, Lee said he was "relieved to see voice phishing damage falling sharply" in recent months.
​
He linked to a news report showing that damage from such crimes fell 45 percent from a year ago in the first three months of the year, largely due to authorities' efforts to hunt down ringleaders operating overseas.
​
"It is all thanks to the dedicated officials from the police, the National Intelligence Service and the foreign ministry. You did a great job. Thank you," he wrote.

"We should all work harder to bring that number down to zero," Lee added, calling on the public to support ongoing efforts.
​
In March, Lee ordered relevant government agencies to come up with measures to root out such crimes after designating phone scams one of seven major social ills.
