As i read the posting from our members i get the feeling most of you have a religion or at least strong conviction in life,so i like to hear some frank comments or even a good counsel as to topic of religion.
people say preferance of religion are greatly influenced by where youre born and raised, chances are good you'll be muslim when you are raised in middle east country or a christian if someone are from gary Indiana.
I think it is so true , from early childhood the religion becomes their life stlye before conceving their own worldview , it become sort of second hand religion introduced by their parents until they reach adult and confront their faith squarely.
It seems most people carry their religion through out their lives except few minority of people who get converted or even forsake their faith. peple who get converted or look into their religion closely are the people who had some adversityin life but to those who are living in the comfort zone just like to stay status quo, leaving the familiar is always difficult.
My upbringing was very religious one, as a kid and still does, going to church was very enjoyable thing the hymns and churchs athmosphere these elements comes fondly in my mind.
but i never had a personal contact or relationship to this "God" whom i knew long as i can remember but i still enjoyed religious lifestyle. now, i believe this scenario applies to allthose kid raised in specific religion, as buddist ,temple will be their fond place and hearing of 목탁 소리 will bring sweetness to their soul same goes for jewish kid observing their rituals. with minor exception of people who soul search, most people with particular religion each claming they have the "truth" absolutely sure they are on the right track..with all this religious belief, can there be a universal truth? how should we approach the issue of religion and faith? with so many religion and verifying objectively just seems impossible.
personally, i cant imagine choosing other religion althoug im not religious by any mean,to tell you the truth im damn scared to go to hell thats why. its a serious business if youre doctrinated by christian theology.
if you know one religion you dont know nothing, who claims to know everything are the most ignorant says the agnostist.
uhm...are they devils advocate? if youre fundamental christian, you bet they are.
what is the healthy balanced approach in choosing ones religion and not fall into foolish extreme.
someone said life is a gamble, should we just throw ourselves to a best possible answer and stick with it? good question..
