By baptism we are united to the Lord's death and resurrection. (Romans 6:5-7)
I feel dizzy when I see them openly talking about the need to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues after believing in Jesus.
Again, it is true that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the basic requirement for salvation by being buried in union with Christ's death and resurrected in union with Christ's resurrection, union with Christ, that is, by becoming one body with Christ, and drinking one Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13).
Because Christianity hastened to make people believe in Jesus or believe in the cross and his blood, they skipped the process of true repentance, the reality of baptism, and the process of moving from sin and death to righteousness and life in Christ, receiving the forgiveness of sins, and receiving the Holy Spirit as a gift.
Whether it is baptism or sprinkling baptism, the Holy Spirit does not work in them because they are only baptized with water.
That's why we who believe in Jesus play the role of teachers who talk about living according to the Word, or show the appearance of childish and vulgar Christianity that emphasizes that we must receive the so-called baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues because we need to receive power even if we believe in Jesus.
Q. What does union with Christ mean?
“For If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.” (Romans 6:5)
A. The incident between Adam and Christ in Romans 5 is God's one-sided love displayed in the whole world when we were sinners and enemies with God.
Baptism is a rite of consecration to Christ by hearing that we died and lived with Christ.
It means to plant together and reap together.
Hebrews tells us that Christ, though the Son greater than the angels, came in the flesh and died for our sins, and that the holy Lord sanctified us and called us brethren (Hebrews 2:5,10-11).
As in Isa 65:22, it means that we have become the same number of years (age) as that tree.
That tree is Christ, the tree of life.
It is a union with the tree.
Jesus Christ and I now live forever in him.
So, the Bible tells us to think about the length of that love.
And his glory will be completely ours, and that is what we believe will be like him when we take off the physical tent and put on the spiritual tent.
Now the Lord Jesus Christ is the firstborn, and we receive the spirit of the firstborn and call God Abba, Father.
But on that day, we will be like him.
That is why Apostle John said, "Beloved, now are we the son of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:2).
Q. What is the grace of the redemption of the cross of Christ?
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” (Romans 6:6)
A. Our old man was crucified with Jesus.
The body of sin is dead.
This means that the old me who was enslaved to sin is now useless.
We must completely set people free from sin and create a new righteous person, a free person, to serve the Lord with a willing heart and dedicate themselves to the Lord.
But if you motivate people who are under sin and use them for the Lord's work, you will have a great regret later.
Believe it or not, the cross has definitely got rid of our old man.
So you will never be a slave to sin again and you will never have to live like that.
Even so, they do not properly understand the meaning of baptism, so they believe in Jesus in front of the cross, as an old man, and struggle to live according to the word, saying only Jesus and saying, “Amen, Jesus, come again.”
It is a big problem if God does not make us believe in the fact that by accepting the truth through suffering, God has already moved us from sin and death in Adam into Christ to become God's children who gain righteousness and life, because God disciplines us.
That place is not the saved life, but the death where the wrath of God dwells.
“For he that is dead is freed from sin.” (Romans 6:7)
For the dead have been set free from sin and have been justified.
Paul declares the result of baptism (baptism), according to the grace of atonement of the cross, death with Christ and union with Christ's resurrection.
Righteous means that it has already ended.
'We have obtained righteousness in Christ' has already been confirmed.
All that remains is for that righteousness to be revealed through outward action.
The book of James says that when that righteousness grows in us, it will be manifested in works.
Although there is a time defferance, it means that if it becomes an apple tree, it will surely bear apples.
Our salvation begins with the seed and ends with the fruit.
However, if the seed does not take root in us, it bears no fruit.
As we always reflect on the meaning of baptism, we must admit that we are useless to sin, that we have been crucified with the Lord, that we have been completely excluded, and that the power of sin has ended in us.
Only then will we be victorious over sin and the flesh and victorious in the world.
The devil constantly tempts us to live with our old man, sinful self.
Some servants of Satan preach cheap forgiveness with false gospels.
Only through the death and resurrection of Christ on the cross are we born again. (1 Peter 1:3)
It has become a new creation.
It is a new creation and a new born.
But as I, who was a sinner, escaped, there was a new blank for a while.
At this point, you must be careful not to wander.
Just as the government organization must be reorganized when the regime changes, we must prevent the unfamiliar stay in which Christ, not me, is the sovereign with the minimum of trouble and complete internal repairs as quickly as possible.
Because the devil constantly interferes with this process of being born again, holiness, and glory, you have to go through a long journey like the Pilgrim's Progress.
But what?
As children of God in Christ, this is an essential learning task for inheriting the eternal kingdom of heaven.
